Casa Chincarini is truly a family business. You meet the owners in the morning serving breakfast, in the afternoon in the bar or around the pool, etc. etc. Make sure to grab them from time to time to get a few tips - they know their area well. The hotel is very clean and nice, and so are the rooms, the bar, the garden, the pool, .... everything is setup to make you feel good. Please note that the common areas of the hotel do not have a lake view. Only rooms 101 - 106 and 201 - 206 do as far as I could see. Although I read about the kitchen for clients' use and the barbecue, I never saw any of the guests make use of them during the 9 days of our stay. They allow you to stay with pets, but are not very enthusiastic about them (we travelled with a medium-sized dog). The main drawback of the property is its location - it's about 2 km outside of town: uphill! I didn't find the walk very nice, as it is uphill and there are no pavements for parts of the way. There is a bus at 1 Euro per person which goes to town and back once every hour, but which we didn't try. We ended up going by car - there is one free parking in Malcesine from which you can walk nicely along the beach into town. The location is not perfect, but we paid 64 Euro per night for the two of us including breakfast (plus 5 Euro per night for the dog), and truly, I belive it is the best deal that you can make around lake Garda.
