“A pleasure to stay here.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

We stayed here as part of a group and some people had nicer rooms than others. We had a large sea front room with a balcony. The bed was comfortable, and the room was lovely and clean. The food was very good - we ate there for breakfast and dinner - and the staff were incredibly friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them: they were patient as we tried to speak Italian, and they were helpful in giving us directions for the local area.

The beach was clean and the loungers were very comfortable although, as is typical in Italy, you had to pay to use them.

I am not sure that we would go back to this hotel but this would be because Mairoi was quite difficult to get to. I think next time we would stay in Sorrento.

“Stay somewhere else!”

I have just spent a week here travelling as part of a group. The standard room I was allocated was tiny (barely room for the double bed), dark and had a balcony which opened out onto a scruffy internal well complete with air conditioning units and the like. Many of our group's rooms were similarly bad and some were also very noisy. Paying a hefty supplement for a 'superior' room solved the problem for me but it should not have been necessary. No air conditioning in October so the rooms were very hot all the time.

The buffet breakfast was OK (if a rather odd assortment of bits and pieces) but the evening meal was dire - meagre, cold, poor quality and sometimes very peculiar (eg., warm pickled onions as the only vegetable) with no sign of any of the wonderful salads and vegetables we saw in the shops and markets. Towards the end of the week, we abandoned the hotel in the evenings and ate out nearby.

The Reginna Palace has no charm, unlike other smaller family run hotels which we looked at nearby.

Mairori itself is a pleasant but unexceptional resort which made a good base for a touring holiday.

“Poor standard of accommodation”

We stayed here for a week and were very disappointed.
The room we were given was very small despite the hotel been only about one third full at most. You practically fell over the bed as you walked through the door and it could not have been more than three metres square. The air conditioning was also a joke as it did not come on until 1.30pm and then went off at 1.30am the result was that you woke up in the middle of the night almost suffocating as it was so hot. You could not open any windows because of noise and mosquitos.

“Nice stay”

We stayed at the hotel for five days in May as we attended a wedding in the region. We had a superior double room which was very big and had a nice balcony overlooking the ocean. The staff on reception, particularly ENA was very helpful and the hotel was very clean at all times. However AC does not come into operation until June 15th and this was something we did not know. The temperatures were in the 30's each day and it was too hot at night to sleep with no AC. The breakfast was very basic and after the first day we did not have it. Very poor selection of cheese and meat and bread, no fresh croissants and unhelpful breakfast staff. I would stay again if only for the location and the lovely reception staff but for no other reason.
