The fellow who checked us in was gruff (language was not an issue since my wife is a fluent Italian speaker) and when we had trouble using the hotel's wi-fi, we had to press him before he would offer assistance. In addition, there was mold in the shower and the mattresses were the stiffest I have slept on since my days in the boy scouts 35 years ago. Lastly, the room furnishings were threadbare (the place is in need of renovation) and the breakfast was of minimal quality, next to nothing was freshly prepared.
