We stayed at this hotel for one week in March and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a smallish charming hotel with excellent service and good food.

The twin room we had booked (comfort negritella) was reasonably spacious and spotlessly clean. I found the service excellent, the atmosphere warm and dinner (included in the room price) very good and varied. The spa downstairs was small but lovely and well maintained. A nice place to relax after a day of skiing.

The hotel is a little way from the the centre of town itself with a number of other hotels (about 15-20 minutes walk) and there don't seem to be taxis readily available in Madonna. During the day the free shuttle bus worked pretty well (if you aren't impatient) but given that there are other guests in the hotel you invariably end up waiting for the bus. Generally this was 10 minutes or so, but in the mornings it could be up to 20-25 minutes. So its not ideal if you want instant access to the slopes or apres ski. That said, the nearest ski lift is about 10 minutes walk.

The only bad point that there were two very noisy children in the neighbouring room and the walls were thin enough for this to be bothersome (it was our wake up call most mornings).

This is one of the lovliest hotels I have stayed at, I can find no criticism and no praise too high. After checking into the Savoia which we found it so disappointing, shabby and charmless, felt like a hostel more than a hotel, we immediately started looking for somewhere else and were lucky to find a cancelled room at Hotel Gianna for a week. I have never seen a hotel so immaculate and spotlessly clean, not a speck of dirt or dust anywhere, even the leaves of the plants are brilliantly polished. Attention is paid to every detail, everything is brand new, must have been recently renovated, the spa is amazing, again the attention to detail - eucalyptus scented steam in the steam room, fresh snow to rub down with outside the sauna, freshly brewed hot herbal tea, sparkling starry ceilings, beautiful murals , .. And the food is to die for. My husband being a restaurateur is very hard to please, but everything we tasted was delicious, every evening a different menu to choose from for the 4 course dinner.

The free hotel ski shuttle is also a great service, we never had to wait more than 5 minutes to either go or be picked up from the ski lifts, you just give them a call and they're there.

All and all a wonderful place for a winter holiday, we spent an entire afternoon checking out all the hotels in the area and think we made the right choice. Several of the Ferrrari and Ducati drivers where staying there, one on his honeymoon.

Stayed in this hotel last year for just four days we were so impressed by it we returned this Jan for 10 days. The service is second to none & is run by Gianna herself with husband & two sons nothing is too much for them. Never had food like it on a ski holiday. From the moment you arrive you just relax in the warm & friendly atmosphere there is also a wonderful spa which is a welcome end to a days skiing
