Hotel Gianna is a very modern hotel with excellent location. One of the last hotels in an alley (Ski bus turnaround) not far from the nearest ski lift. The Hotel has it's own shuttle bus which they use to take people to the lifts and back. We used it a couple of times, but mainly relied on the ski bus service. The distance is also not impossible by foot which we also tryed in a nice, sunny weather. Being situated in the end of the alley, the location is very quiet.
I would definately recommend half board, since the food and service is just excellent. We stayed there during christmas time and the eight course xmas dinner was just mind blowing (and stomach filling..). Every other day we were served a four course dinner, which we had a possibility to choose from a special selection for the day. There was always one appetizer and 3-4 second and third courses to choose from. The desert was also fixed every day. 3rd and 4th courses had always a choice of meat, fish and vegetable and typically a soup or pasta. Half board also included a small snack around 3-5 pm, which was typically a piece of cake, fruit salad and tea.
Downstairs was a health spa with a wide variety of different treatments that my wife tryed. I settled for whirpool, finnish sauna and a steam sauna instead. There was also a small swimming pool with a possibility to turn on a current for those who wanted to swim. The spa area was quite spacious and propably the biggest I've seen for a hotel this size. It was on two floors, upper for the treatments and the lower for everything else.
The hotel was equipped with an elevator, so it fits also people with disabilities. One cool thing was when I told the concierge the first day that our room was a little bit cold, he managed the temperature from a computer. There was other fancy technology in this hotel and this made the hotel quite modern. The rooms had credit card keys that were identified from distance and there was a small green/red light on the reader which told the cleaning staff whether someone was in the room or not. Our room was cleaned twice a day and every evening during the dinner our pyjamas were set in a funny way on the bed (check out the photo) :)
All-in-all, a very pleasant stay. Only small hinder was a fact that our room was situated right next to the elevator shaft. Therefore we could hear the elevator quite well every time it went up or down (it sounded a lot like a small snow plow going back and forth in the yard). So just a small tip for you guys planning to book a trip, ask for a room away from the elevator :)
Another thing that came to us as a surprice was that the 6 day ski ticket that was included in the price, was only to the Madonna di Campiglio lifts. This we found out one day when we skied down to a other side of the mountain trying to access the other areas displayed on the ski map.
