“If you want a half board hotel for your ski trip stay here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

6 of us just went on a ski trip to Livigno and i wouldn't hesitate to go back and stay here. The hotel is spotless and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel really welcome. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were well decked out and cleaned daily. Marzia, the owner, is charming and extremely friendly, you get the feeling nothing would be too much trouble.

We went with a tour operator and went half board, the breakfast is lovely, fruit, cereals and pastries and the option of an egg which is enough to keep you going until lunch at least! The dinner isn't on site but it's no hardship, it's about 500 yards away and the food was superb in terms of quality, quantity and choice. Be warned the starters are large!

Overall the Hotel is spot on, clean and tidy, friendly staff, reasonably priced and everything just so, would highly recommend.

Room Tip: The 'superior' rooms come at a premium and are slightly larger with a whirlpool bath instead...

“Nice hotel for our short intermezzo!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to the Lago Maggiore.
We stayed in a Standard Room, which is quite small, just like the shower in it. The breakfast is good, especially the italian coffee (self-service).
It's location is ok, in the main shopping street, but just above the end (or beginning) of the track where all the shops are.
We were allowed to bring our dog for 8€ the night.
Our overall rating is average, because the hotel is nice and clean, but rather expensive for a longer stay. (They charge 6€ a day for internet access)

Room Tip: don't book standard if you want to have some space

Warm hospitality, clean hotel, good restaurant nearby
But be careful to hire ski equipment at the SKI SPORT ELER / 360 livigno near the hotel .
The prices are high comparison to other shops in the town and the service is very bed
There are other good options – This hotel getting commission for recommendation.

“Super stay in Hotel Marzia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2010

This was our forth time in Livigno but the first time in Hotel Marzia as we usually stay in apartments and travel with tour company. The standard of cleanliness was excellent, and the bedrooms very comfortable and certainly very warm. The locker room for boots and skis was the same and boots remained toasty warm for some time after puting them on!
Breakfast set us up for the day and there was a great selection between cold meats, cheese, cereals, yougart, fresh fruit, juices fresh bread and pastries and if you want eggs. Anyway it kept us going well into the day and service was always with a smile. Staff wre genuinely friendly and interested and nothing too much bother. Location is great for the carosella, and the bus stops just across the road so getting to the Motlolina side of the mountain was not a problem. Restraunts are plentiful and its nice to try the various restraunts.Needless to say we will return next year.

“The 2009 reservation has already been made”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2008

Februray 2008 was the 5th consecutive year that we have stayed at the Marzia .. we have already made the reservation for 2009.

We are a family of 5 and usually ski in February with a group of friends ... this year there were 31 of us (14 rooms) ranging in age from 6 to 49. Many of the group were returning for the second and third time to the Marzia. We find Livigno ideal for a family / mixed ability group ... for an advanced skier in need of challenges, Livigno is not for you. The height of the resort means the snow is generally reliable, even as the end of season approaches.

The hotel is located close to the ski lifts wich are literally across the road. There are a number of ski rental outlets to choose from beside the hotel. The ski school office is across the road as is the outlet selling the ski passes.

The hotel is modern and (for the most part) well maintained. The staff are friendly, responsive and helpful. As the other reviews note, the buffet breakfast is a highlight ... just what you need before heading out to the slopes. For a large group such as ours, on request, the hotel will provde a buffet dinner one evening which is good and well priced.

There is also a lesiure centre with sauna, steam room and massage services available. It is a pity that here is no pool.

There is a selection of good quality well priced restaurants within walking distance for lunch or dinner (Bellavista, La Pioda); if you are willing to take a 5 minute taxi ride, try Toilesor (the hotel will make a reservation) ... a great restaurant.

There is nightlife close to the hotel, but the real action is about 1,000m away in the centre of Livigno. For the adults in the Group there is an excellent wine bar, Wine & Co, about 500m towards the centre of the town ... a real retreat after 5:00pm and before dinner. For younger adults there are selection of lively bars.

Nothing is ever perfect and this year the heater in the locker system was not working which meant cold and damp boots in the morning ...

Another drawback (which the marzia can do nothing about) is the transfer to Livigno ... 4-5 hours from Milan, Innsbruck or Friedrichshaven. The solution is fly in on Friday and out on Sunday and take the time to enjoy the spectacular scenery onthe drive to Livigno.

Definitely one of our favourite hotels ... there are cheaper places to stay in Livigno but the Marzia offers good value .
