We arrived at the ferry port at Lipari to a waiting van driven by Danillo who drove us, during our 7 night stay, anywhere we wanted to go (for free) including the centre of town, Hotel Tritone (a sister hotel), Cannetto Beach, Marina Corta and the restaurants owned by the Bernadi family, being Filipinno and E Pulera.
He drove us to the wonderful hotel of A Pinnata perched on the hillside in a great location overlooking the whole town of Lipari, Baia Pignataro, the old walled city and the island of Volcano.
Our room (Capricornio) was spacious with a shaded balcony, and was spotlessly clean and serviced every day with clean towels and robes. We were also provided with beach towels on every occasion that we needed them.
The hotel manager (Antonello) could not do enough to assist us, including organising transfers with Danillo at whatever time suited us to whatever drop off point, booking restaurants and boat tours and checking the time of the ferry. Nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast was served between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and included cereal, fresh fruit, pastries, bread, cheese & meats, yoghurt, tea and coffee. A great light breakfast to start the day!!
This hotel made a wonderful stay in Lipari unforgettable.
