“Perfect family stay.”

We stayed at this hotel in August 2011, 2 adults and 2 teenagers (aged 17&15) staying for 7 nights. We arrived at the hotel to find luxury cars in the car park - a promising start and when we went to the reception desk we were greeted with excellent English speaking and very friendly staff, who showed us to our room, carried our luggage and explained various things about the hotel. We were one of only a few English people in the hotel, although this didn't bother us as everybody was really friendly! Breakfast was simply superb, a huge variety (including made to order juices!) although we never ate at the hotel in the evening partly due to the extensive restaurants on the promenade varying from 5euros for a pizza to 20euros+ for seafood and also partly because it seemed slightly over priced. Also there is a roof top bar with stunning view of the sea but drinks were very expensive.
The rooms were well equipped including a small kitchenette (perfect if you wanted to up to the room and grab some lunch!) and the air conditioning was fabulous!
There was an indoor pool with a sauna showers and steam room which was never overly busy along with a heated outdoor pool, which was never packed and you would be greeted by the lifeguard who provided you with towels and showed you to sun beds(although on occasions there were only few spare).
The location of the hotel was perfect: just across the road is the beach (although you do have to pay unless you go on a 'free beach' which were always packed), and also the 4km promenade which was full of shops and restaurants on either side and often a market. Traditionally the Italians walk up and down between 7&8pm which creates a really lovely atmosphere!
I really recommend a hire car to go and visit fort de marmis (where the designer shops are), a tour of the marble mines and a trip to Lucca is a must! A simply beautiful walled town. Also ask the reception staff to recommend restaurants away from the promenade... we only did this on the last night and ended up at the BEST italian restaurant we'd ever been to!
Overall a fab holiday with lots to do and the teenagers were not bored in the slightest!

We have been there for at first 3 days, and we enjoyed it so much that we extended our journey for 3 more days ! Great suite, excellent posotion and great view on a beautiful jardin, great design and extra clean. Excellent service at the reception (we were upgraded for free) , as well as the restaurant- Very high quality and choice for food, and never ending breakfast buffet. Bikes at disposal, very usefull to lounge the sea.High standard spa + internal swimming pool. Great huge outdoor swimming pool+large sun beds !
Perfect stay, we will return!!!

“Very nice and well managed hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

This is a very well located and really nice hotel. Very modern (reminds you a bit of "W" kind of hotels) and nice stile but not cold.

We spent a wonderful week here and we will certainly come back when we will be in Italy again.

The hotel is quite big and very modern but still the staff manages to treat customers very individually and very friendly and help.

The restaurant is not cheap, but really good for a hotel restaurant. Excellent pasta dishes, great fish and reasonably priced good wine. The staff is very friendly and effective.

Great breakfast - and, even better than the "egg man" they have a "fruit lady" - you get fresh juices squeezed from the fruits you select. Carrot with Apple and Kiwi or peach with kiwi and ingwer...

Great place on the roof for sun downer and some nice photos.

The hotel pool is nice and you always find a sun bed available.

All is very clean, modern.

1 h free WiFi - if you need more, however I felt it is expensive (24 h are + 20 €). Very friendly staff who also have good tips for dinner and more. All staff - cleaning lady, reception, restaurant - great.

“third year very disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011

We stayed 9 days and expected the hotel to be as good as the two
previous years. The bathroom in the suite had a broken shower head
and the fan did not work to clear any condensation. In the sitting area
a plug socket was loose,so this could not be used. There was a new chef
(previous chef was excellent}the food was lukewarm and not very appetitizing
hence we eat out.Breakfast also was not very good.
We would like to thank Cristian and new waiters Marco and Matti for being
so helpful and polite.
Last year at the pool if you reserved your sunbed and did not use this
within 2 hours it went to someone else which was a fair way of stopping
people who would not use the bed for most of the day and come back
late in the afternoon. This year there were quite a few beds not being used
but because towels had been placed on them could not go to anyone else.
Be careful and check your bill.Due to the incompetance of the reception
staff we were overcharged 120 euros on a meal we did have and my husband
only noticed this when we got home.
It is such a shame when a hotel starts off brilliantly and then standards start to
slide.
We have always raved about this hotel but unfortunately not anymore

“Fantastic hotel, Christian was wonderful”

My boyfriend and I stayed at this modern hotel in September 2010. It was the best hotel in our entire Italy tour (service, value, space). The breakfast each morning was amazing!!!!!! It was an LA style resort in the US. White, clean, modern. The room was spacious and quiet. We met Christian, a bar manager, our first night and he made the stay! He was so helpful, friendly and happy. He even made me a chocolate and cream cocktail, literally from scratch because I said I enjoyed chocolate. The hotel was down the street from many restaurants and bars. We took a day trip to Pisa and Cinque Terra. Versilia was the perfect location for these day trips. We highly recommend this hotel.
