The building is a fabulous former Austro-Hungarian summer palace; one day they will turn it into a top class resort after which it will become unaffordable. In the meantime grab the chance to stay here at normal holiday hotel prices!
The rooms are basic; the first level of upgrade, from "classic" to "comfort" bought us a fantastic view over the fountain, gardens and mountains but no improvement in the room itself, so I'd recommend "superior" unless you can afford a suite.
The breakfast is basic and you need to remember to book for dinner or risk upsetting the Maître D, also the WiFi is poor, do remember to ask for a room with working WiFi if you need it.
But none of this is important; just enjoy the fabulous building, grounds, location, and reasonable prices!
