Whilst clean, the room we were gien bore no resemblance to the ones pictured on their website: we were allocated a small room at the back of the building that overlooked a very popular restaurant, two noisy bars and an office block with heavily graffitied walls (not unusual for Lecce). Despite the apparent heat, we were more-or-less asked not to trouble the hard-working Monica for the air conditioning to be put on - "very unusual outside August" apparently!
As three, separate adult women, we had requested three separate beds in our room but were given a double and camp and when we asked if we could move to another more suitable room, were told "Tomorrow" - guess what?... Tomorrow never came!
The location is indeed central - in fact, it maybe too noisy for most - the bars stayed open until about 4am and then the street cleaners started up at about 7am.
In fairness, the breakfast was great: it arrived on a tray (again via the hard-working Monica) and was tasty, varied and generous although with no tea/coffee making facilities, a larger helping of beverages wouldn't go amiss.
The bathroom was also good being roomy and clean, although it too overlooked the graffitied office block unless you remembered to keep the shutters down.
But, I couldn't, in all conscience, recommend it. Overall, it was too noisy, inadequate for our requested requirements and when we asked for a reduction in the price to compensate for our disappointment, we were met with some overly Italian histrionics from the owner, Tomaso, and the threat of Police!
There seems to be plenty of other b&b accommodation available throughout the city which was better situated, aesthetically more appealing and in a comparable price bracked - I would suggest checking these out first.
