The Mirage B&B had some wonderful features, as well as a few flaws that I found minor by comparison. Marco and his wife, who speak English, created a welcoming atmosphere and were helfpul and informative. My single room was spacious and was decorated with simple, striking touches. It was clean and very comfortable. The large bathroom held a much appreciated bath tub. The B&B is within easy walking distance of Lecce's historic heart - the Piazza Sant'Oronzo is less than a 10-minute walk away. (The B&B is a bit more than a mile from Lecce's train station, so guests who arrive by train should be prepared for a bit of a walk or consider a taxi.) Breakfast, served in the room, included a small, but tasty, choice of breads and cakes, juice, and a beverage of one's choosing.
The minor flaws were that the bedsheets showed some signs of wear and there wasn't quite enough hot water for a long bath at the end of the day - I'd have liked another inch or so. I considered these flaws to be very minor in comparison to the B&B's affordability, location, and welcoming atmosphere.
