“Simply the best”

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We stayed at the Aurora for 3 nights whilst visiting our daughter in Italy. It was without doubt the most firendly and welcoming place we have ever stayed. The owner couldn't do enough for us, he met us at 11.30 pm to welcome us on our first night, he invited my daughter to join us for breakfast each morning and wouldn't accept payment for it. The room was large, bright, clean and well equipped with T.V. DVD player en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. There was a fridge in the corridor with a selection of cold drinks, a well equipped kitchen for use by all the guests, a huge terrace where breakfast was served each morning and where we enjoyed wine each evening. It's a simple as this. IF YOU ARE GOING TO LECCE, STAY AT THE AURORA.

“He kept 100% of 3-night's tariff but never provided us with accommodation!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2006

We booked for 3 days and paid 100% of the 3-day tariff upfront to secure our booking. We advised our arrival time (lunch-time) and gave the owner our mobile numbers (which unfortunately were not working while in Italy).
We arrived around 1.30pm and tried calling him for over 1/2 hour and only got a message bank in Italian which we couldn't interpret. When we eventually found the block of flats we rang both the external and internal doorbells but again, there was no answer. We remained at the property for quite some time hoping someone would turn up. We decided to seek alternative accommodation as we had nowhere to stay (it was peak-season) and it was getting late. It was most unfortunate as we were on our honeymoon. We contacted the owner the following day via email to find out why he was not there to meet us. He said we had not answered our mobiles. We didn't understand our booking was dependent on him telephoning us as we had advised our arrival time and paid for 3 nights accommodation.
To date, after many requests via email, we have not received a refund of any kind. He has kept all 100% of 3-night's tariff and never provided us with accommodation.

“The ONLY place to stay in Lecce”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2005

If you are visiting Lecce there is no better place to stay than the B and B Aurora. Four of us travelled around the Puglia region, spending a few days in Lecce, the Aurora was by far the best place we stayed in our entire trip. It is located within a short walk of the walled city and the train station thus it is ideal. There are only a few guest rooms, all doubles and of an exceptional modern standard with en suite, fantastic marble floors. There is a fridge in the hallway where you can help yourself to drinks, there are dvd’s to watch in your room and the kitchen is free to use. We didn’t have breakfast on our stay but I have heard that this is fantastic. There is also a huge roof terrace for you to sit out on. The Aurora has such a welcoming, friendly feel, its like staying with a real Italian family except you are left to your own devices. Raffaele who’s family runs the b and b is great, extremely helpful and has thought of all the questions you could possibly need to ask as a tourist, about Lecce and the Aurora, his English is excellent too which makes it easier for those not great with the language! The prices are unbelievable too, I think we paid approx £18 pppn, which they could easily charge double for based on the high standard. If you visit Lecce you must must stay at the aurora!!
