The rooms reminded me of eastern European hotels. Sparse outdated furnishings. Did not make us want to be in room. Female staff at desk very accomodating and helpful.

I stayed a week at the President and was thoroughly impressed. The room was large and the standard of cleaning high, breakfast was included and was a good start to the day. The staff were excellent both in the restaurant and on the main desk. They also have a garage which meant i could park the car without any problems every night.
Easy walk to the piazza and restaurants plus a welcome stroll back after dinner with an ice-cream.

Would highly recommend, great deal through expedia.

My wife and I stayed one night at President Hotel. The hotel was arranged by Trafalgar tours, and we were told that it was one of the few four star hotels near the old city. In fact, it was only about a 10 minutes walk to the old city which made it highly convenient. Our room 503 was surprisingly spacious (see photo) with an equally spacious bathroom. The refrigerator in the room was cold enough to partially freeze our ice pack. We did not use the TV, but it had an extensive menu of pay TV options. Wireless internet was available in the rooms for Euro 3 per hour, but we were too tired to use it. The dinner in the hotel dining room and breakfast were tasty. The breakfast buffet included hard boiled eggs. The downtown location was convenient to banks and restaurants, and we shopped for travel needs at a 99 cent store directly across the street. Staff at the reception desk spoke fine English.

We judged the value of the room by prices on TripAdvisor because we did not pay for the room. We were very satisfied with the room and the service.

I read the reviews here before staying. Someone mentions its a package tour hotel -- well that is what I was on and I was impressed immediately on arrival to find all our keys were on a specailly placed table with our name cards and all we had to dowas pick up the key and go to our room.

The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and well appointed. The beds have a super reading light whose intesity is adjustable, the beds are so comfortable I had thebest sleep for ages. I love having a second door between the bedroom and the rooms entrance foyer as I find most noise in hotels comes from other guests in the corridors. I had a room on the side of the hotel, others facing the front mentioned street noise from late returning revellers but I heard nothing.

The breakfast is good and plentiful and frequently topped up by hardworking and cheerful staff.

Dinner in the restaurant is OK but there are many restaurants in Lecce I'd rather eat in.

I can't fault this hotel --and believe me, I am picky. I wouldn't hesitate to return there, tho' I'd first check the prices of the Risorgimento Resort which is a new upmarket hotel under same ownership . We had lunch there and were most impressed by the service.
