I stayed one night at the Robinia and only chose the hotel as it was as close I could find with on line booking to where I really wanted to be in Italy. Personal contact seems to be the way in Italy however in this area their English skills are not much better than my Italian!

Anyway, more importantly the hotel. I wouldn't say it is a three star. It's a very basic type hotel, very small shower room/toilet, basic breakfast (more later) and just adequate beds/pillows and bedding.

The hotel is easy to find as it's very well signposted, which is a good job as it would be a nightmare otherwise. It's half way up the hill just above the marina on a one way steep hill. Parking is available but limited. There are steep steps leading down from the side of the hotel to the marina area, you'll need a drink when you get back to the hotel after climbing back up.

Breakfast is continental, very basic and mostly out of packets (including the croissants). Get there early as they weren't keen on us starting breakfast just after nine.

If you face the marina side, you get a reasonable view however the the lights that illuminate the building can keep you awake if you prefer darkness to sleep. Like most Italian hotels it isn't air conditioned.

There is a patio/sun terrace accessed from the lounge area that runs out on to the top of the next building down the hill. It's got a conservatory type area so would be OK even if not the height of summer. Not really designed for sun bathing though.

We booked a triple room however there wasn't any bedding provided for the third bed and we had to chase it up twice. They struggled to find a pillow and in the end provided a pillow case filled with assorted "stuff".
