This hotel has apparently rated themselves as a 4 star property. Based on the hideous, worn, dirty lobby and restaurant spaces, dark, florescent lit hallways with shabby carpet and rooms with equally awful decor, which clearly haven't been updated since the 50's, 2 stars would be generous. it's only positive attribute were the very pleasant, non-English speaking, staff at the front desk.
Also, we were in Imola for the Porsche Driving School at the Ferrari race track, which the Hotel description said was withing walking distance. Turned out to be several miles away!
Avoid at all costs.

I was very surprised to read the Review from Trip Advisor Santa Barbara. The Olimpia is part of the Best Western Group of Hotels and as such has to conform to strict criteria, regarding its cleanliness, food standards and also the decor.
The hotel hosts one restaurant which is located at the end of the lobby area and has windows on both sides. The colour scheme has been kept airy. The corridors are lit during all times as these do not have windows, like in most hotels. The hotel underwent a complete refurbishing program in 1998. The Olimpia has been graded as a 4 star Italian property. Gradings are different to all countries in the world and a 4 star in one country does not mean the same in another country.
All staff in key positions speak English and some are multilingual. The cleaning personnel of the hotel speak Italian.
I do not know to which Porsche Driving School they went, as the one located at the Enzo&Dino Ferrari circuit is within one mile of the hotel. The Olimpia is the closest located hotel to the Racing circuit.
The hotel prides itself with the service we give and most of our guests come back time after time again to enjoy the Italian hospitality which my staff presents them with.
