After a very noisy cruise from Venice on the "most beautiful ship in the world", it was like comming to heaven when we sank down into Byron's terrace chairs and could, in fact, hear the waves rolling on to the beach just below; No thundering loudspeakers, no exercise commands, no screaming kids diving into the pool, - just kids playing! Wonderful!
We probably had the best double room available as to location, 4. floor (403), forward on the SW side, the next would be the big seafront rooms - with another price! A bit small (as we had to line up two big suitcases along the wall), but recently renovated with a very nice bathroom. The balcony, although small, was ideal for a night cup watching and listening to the ever rolling waves. With no street noise, we could later leave the balcony door open through the night, - no sleeping pills!
Gliding through Byron's lounges, bar and restaurant tells you about an owner with a supreme grip on good taste, art and style, - it's pure medicine just to sit down with a good drink and just look!
Byron is the southernmost hotel on the 4 mile long Jesolo strip, close both to the direct Venice boat and the Venice/Jesolo centre bus. On Byron's privat beach you will all the time have your own reserved set of sunbeds + umbrella, even if you should prefer laying alongside the pool on a thick mattress (obs €5, incl a big towel).
The food is fenomenal and - by all means, - take the half pension, 5 courses for €10!! And what a service - all over the place! Top stylish waiters serving you - certainly with a glimps in their eyes! However; If you - after a while - can't stand the lack of thundering speakers, the nearby bus (every 1/2 hour) takes you to the roaring Jesolo centre in a few minutes.
Conclusion: Ref to other travelers' reports, you may probably find other hotels up the strip being as good as Byron with same level of class, style, service and food, but better? Hardly not!!
