My husband and I recently returned from 2 weeks at the Residence Pratone.
We hoped for a quiet, relaxing retreat but unfortunately, this was not the case.
We took a 2 bed apartment, which was over Two floors.
It consisted of an extremely small patio area, which was overlooked by many other apartments.
There was a open plan lounge/dining kitchen with only an insufficient 4 ring hob to cook on.
There was a double and twin room upstairs, both decent sizes and a bathroom with Shower.
The accomodation was very clean but as the Climate became more rainy, the celing & wall in the bathroom showed a large amount of damp. as we were leaving, there was also damp appearing in the lounge.
Our major problem was that the walls seperating the apartments (we were attached to at least 3 ) were paper thin so you could hear everything that went on in the adjoining apartments, which included a lot of babies & children who awoke and cried very early, toilets flushing & the showers being used and the singing from the group next door at midnight!
The resort appears to be set up for the German tourists, as we were the only English tourists there at the time. This included having about 6 t.v chanels, 2 in italian, the rest in German.
The location is up a steep hill, which the less mobile would definately struggle with.
To walk to Garda town, you must decend the hill, walk along the busy road (no pavements) for 50/100M and there are locked gates which gives access down to the lake. we were given a key for the gates, which proved invaluable, but a few days before we left, they were locked & we could not use them.
We also had to buy a torch because if we ate out in Garda (not great) in an evening, the last part of the walk home was unlit.
