To Italy for a week - realising we were a bit tired decided at the last minute to stay in Garda - to rest and then go to Venice. This hotel at the end of October was just great. We slept well - the staff were courteous on every occasion. We booked a superior partial lake view and were offered a full lake view for 10 euros extra per night. On seeing we booked it. Dinner on the first night was also great - so much so that we had dinner at the hotel each night.

We stayed at this hotel for one week mid September. The hotel itself was lovely very clean and tidy and the staff were very welcoming. The pool was lovely, overlooking the lake. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Garda itself is a lovely place, we travelled here for a family wedding and had a brilliant time. I would highly recommend.

What a first class hotel. After a warm and informative welcome by staff we were shown to our side lake view room. It was perfect for what the two of us needed and very clean, modern and comfortable. We wanted to bring the bed back with us we slept so well. As other people have said everything you could want is provided - pool towels, safe, fridge, hairdryer etc etc. The housekeeper visits regularly and will tend to any requests.

We went half board and therefore breakfast and dinner were included. I would recommend doing this as the food is excellent and there was such great variety throughout the week. We did not have one bad meal - and with four courses every day - we had a few! We had breakfast outside every morning overlooking the lake which was also lovely. Free afternoon tea is provided every day with a selection of teas and cakes which is also a nice touch.

Staff were friendly, happy and helpful and a credit to the hotel.

The pool can get busy and is quite cold! But is very refreshing on a hot day and we never had trouble getting a spot.

As people have already said it is in a great location just outside of the main town of Garda. We visited Venice for the day and also climbed the mountain where the statue of the Madonna sits which is accessed through Garda town itself and is worth doing if your legs can hack it as the views were breathtaking. Other than that we spent our time relaxing by the pool and wandering through the beautiful streets of Garda.

We both felt totally de-stressed after the week and are already looking into booking for next year.

Where to start...
The welcome at the Hotel was warm and inviting. The staff were always pleasant, helpful and friendly. The rooms were fabulous, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and had everything you could want: free safe, good sized fridge, hairdryer, pool towels and I could go on and on. The food was outstanding with lots to chose from every morning and evening, there was also the added bonus of afternoon tea included in the half-board price. The location of the hotel is perfect, just fair away from the busy main street to be peaceful but only 5 minute walk into Garda central to shop or visit the many bars/restaurants. It is also only a couple of minutes away from the ferry stop which you can use to get to the other parts of Lake Garda. Overall I would say that this holiday was the best I have ever had and I can't wait to go back to the Hotel Excelsior le Terrazze again.
