“Really nice and reasonable hotel - can imagine its amazing in summer!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2012

I stayed in this lovely hotel in January this year for a work conference (not in the hotel but nearby). I really liked it. Yes, the staff have limited english, yes, you have to get the Wifi password emailed to you, yes, you have to leave the building to get to the gym but I quite liked all these little challenges! The rooms are really lovely with cute balconies and lovely views. We had dinner in the restaurant the first night and not being sure what we ordered, was pleasantly surprised. Breakfast was average - nothing amazing but standard buffet fare - nothing to really complain about either. Not sure if I will every have need for a stay in Padova again but if I did I would certainly be back!!

“Great thermal pool with a total luck of professional service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2012

We chose this hotel to celebrate my birthday. It sounded like a good choice for a 4 days trip, thermal pool plus proximity of Padua. We arrived at 10pm, finished check in in 2 min, asked for a password for wifi, they asked for mobile phone number to send us a sms with all details. Ok , strange, but if it works, great. The room was nice, new, confortable, not so well oriented (to the parking), bathroom big and clean with bathrobe. We wanted to swich on airconditioning due to a low t, but it didn´t work, it started working after we called reception. Than we wanted to take a shower but there were no worm wather. I called a reception, they send in few min repairman. He actually didnt do anything, due to the fact that the hot water was also centraly controlled from the reception. When we wanted to connect to wifi, we realized that we didnt receive sms, we had to call reception again. He said that they have a problem with wifi... like they didnt know that 20min before. In the morning I asked again at the reception weather they solved a problem with wifi, he said yes, they will send sms if I give tham a mob no. 1h later I was still waiting for sms. Than I asked to talk to a manager, due to a fact that they are spoling all my plans for a birthday. Luckily I found one normal person at a reception who spoke english and managed to make reservations for a basilica through their system and explained their problem with wifi. All others just lied, covering their incompetence. At the end of the day I found a bottle of prosecco with a birthday card, which was a nice gesture having in mind all previous stupidities we faced. To be honest the service in the hotel is a nightmare, but the hotel itself , specially the 38C thermal pool is a very good. Maybe they are better in a full seasson...

Room Tip: 301 parking view

“Beautiful hotel - very pleasantly surprised and so relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2012

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel, Friday to Tuesday, not really knowing what to expect, having booked it randomly after receiving Radisson gift points from friends. Other reviews had commented that it was spoilt at weekends as too busy. There were certainly more people at the weekend but the hotel, pools and facilities are so varied and large enough that we never felt that it was too busy or overcrowded

The hotel is located in a quiet, pretty country location surrounded by hills and vineyards. Not an attractive looking building from the outside but beautiful inside with a majestic marble lobby/bar and lovely restaurant and bedroom. The rates offered at this time of year were so good that we booked a superior room which had a garden balcony and was located on 1st floor
.
There is a golf course, a spa and relaxtion centre, fitness centre, volley ball and tennis courts, none of which, I'm loathe to say we used, partly due to the weather and time of the year and partly because we just loved the thermal pools and jacuzzi so much it was hard to leave! They really are fantastic, lots of different areas to relax and enjoy the bubbles or float around. The water temperature is 30 degrees whilst outside it was 0' - we had 2 days of blue skies and sun and we even sat outside on the sunloungers wrapped up in our dressing gowns and rugs provided by the hotel - it was so refreshing and relaxing. If you need to warm up there is a heated indoor area to relax, read and snooze .There is also a proper pool to swim lengths and one day I participated in the aquarobics whilst the poor instructor was freezing in the cold and rain whilst we were in the warm steamy pool!

The staff were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful, particularly considering our poor and very limited Italian. Another review had commented on the staff only speaking Italian and German which we actually found refreshing, particularly lovely to be the only Brits and we thought that it was a good sign that the hotel was full of Italians.

The breakfast was one of the best I've seen, selection and quality wise and the service at breakfast and evening meal was exceptional. We had lunch at the bar in our dressing gowns one day in between swimming. The only negative point would be that the bar, although lovely, is quite cold and lacking in atmosphere as it's part of the lobby, but I'm sure it must be lovely in summer when the doors open onto the terrace/pool/gardens.

The hotel is 15 minutes from Padua where we went for lunch and potter and well worth the visit. It is also 35 minutes from Venice where we went for the day. At the end of both sightseeing days we still were able to have several hours in the thermal pools on our return. We also visited Monselice (10 minutes away) and had a lovely lunch at Bottega del Caffe and wished we'd had time to go and eat one evening.

We flew to Bologna which was 1 hour away and rented a car which I would recommend due to the location of the hotel, and if you want to sightsee. Alternatively there is a train station in Battaglia Terme which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and trains go to Venice and various other areas from this station. The nearest airport would be Venice or Verona.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and would be tempted to return when the weather is warmer to experience it at a different time of year.

Room Tip: The Majestic building seemed to be the nicest of the buildings - we had a superior room on the first...

“Beautiful hotel with a great thermal bath”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

We stayed only for a couple of nights at the hotel and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel, especially the nicely furnished bedrooms and the thermal pools. There is free wifi in the bedrooms now (2011) but a little complicated to access (you get a token at the reception with a username and password). The breakfast is not as diversified as in other Radissons but it is ok.

Positive: Stylish and qualitative interior of the bedrooms, nice balcony
Negative: Building site at the pool, average breakfast, no prices shown (minibar, poolbar,...)

Despite the minor criticism we can recommend the hotel and would definitely come agian!

“Beautifull hotel but NO service.... not for us, only for german and italian guest”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2010

The hotel is fantastic, relaxing bedroom, nice decoration, nice swimming pool. But that is it.
We choose to stay in this hotel as it became a Radisson Blu hotel, the problem was there is nothing radisson except a paper & a pen in the room. First when arrived by car, no hotel name on the building but We were impressed by the beautifull reception hall.
Took about 25min to have the receptionnist ready to check us in. He gave us the room key, show us the lift and that is it. No information about breakfast or dinner time, no information about how it works in the hotel and around (with all the treatment room, bath room, spa, golf, ... We understood later that he could not say more in english than a room number and lift on the right.
If you do not speak italian or dutch, AVOID the hotel.
For the restaurant, dinner is served between 7.30 & 9pm and choose a good table as it will be the same for all your meal every single day of your stay (room number is written on the table). When we enter in the restaurant, we were not expecting to have a buffet for dinner. It was actually the starter and dessert. You choose a pasta and main course on the menu placed on your table (in italian but they translated it in english the day after, very approximate translastion as what we order was not exactly what was on the plate). The first evening the food was good, the second we were disappointed.
For breakfast, pastry was simply hawfull. we have never tasted a croissant like that. Same for raisin bread. No fresh fruit juice and looking at the scrambled egg, better not to try. We ended by eating an apple and a banana. All the rest seems to be done for german only.
Room was really nicely decorated, but the receptionnist gave us a connecting room and we could ear everything from our neighboor (coughing, talking, toilet flush, hair dryer.... everything).
Internet access is available in a tiny room (full of mosquitoes) not good when you booked a radisson thinking free WIFI in your room), the computer is mostly used by teenagers the entire afternoon & evening.
Parking space available but quiet full in the evening and kids are playing around the cars with tennis ball.
For the spa in the hotel, we had to contact the spa therapist between 8 and 9.45 am. otherwise she is gone and we have to call her on her mobile. At the end she ask us to go at the Pevonia spa-terme outside the hotel. We have been there but we have to book quiet in advance to have the treatment which we can understand as it is more "medical" treatment than simply a spa massage.
Forgot to mention that nowhere you will find the price of your consumption. we have never received a bar menu for example. no price for the dinner, and the drinks. You just signe a paper with your order on it, but no price written. At the end it was not too expensive but we were worry.

We had originally booked for 5 nights, but left after 2. the hotel has just been refurbished and it is really Fantastic but they forgot to renew the staff and the canteen which is called the restaurant for the guest. We could go back to the hotel in a few years when it will be a real Radisson Blu hotel not before.
