“Friendly Hotel”

We stayed at the Imperiale in Fiuggi in September 2011 whilst on a tour with Mistral. We found it a good base. We had nice clean rooms and were lucky enough to have balconies both times. The food was nice and the drinks bill reasonable. Fiuggi itself is a nice little town with a pleasant square, although beware the bird droppings from the trees! There is also a beautiful church at the end of the town. One morning we saw a lady collecting chestnuts which had fallen from the trees.

Room Tip: Room 211 has a nice balcony.

“Dont Stay Here!”

I also went at the begining of October and i wish i hadn't - this was the worst holiday i have ever had - the hotel staff were rude and unhelpful and i have no idea where the other people stayed when they say they had a nice time - the place was awful and the food was very poor - Breakfast you were watched like hawlks, like you were going to steel the toaster or coffee machine - which was always stone cold. Went with Ledger, which wont be doing again and the drivers were also very rude and had no knowledge about anything to do with the hotel or holiday. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!

“Very Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

My wife and I were recently on a coach trip with Leger holidays and stayed at the Hotel Imperiale. Whilst the hotel was well positioned and the rooms clean but decor rather tired looking the staff were unfriendly and arrogant. When we went down for our evening meal they appeared disintrested and could not wait to get us out of the dining room.a lady on our table had ordered spaggetti bolognese but was left out by the waitress serving. She then went to the coach drivers table and gave them what was left in the pot.At breakfast the water was not hot enough to make tea and the food was very basic.

“Don't believe everything you read”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

We arrived on October 4th after a 30 hour coach ride from the UK. After reading some of the reviews on Trip Advisor we were expecting the hotel from hell but we couldn't have been more wrong.

Checking-in was quick, easy and hotel staff were on hand to help with cases. Our room was on the third floor at the rear of the hotel and so it didn't have a view; but this wasn't a problem as we were only using the room for sleeping in. The room itself was very clean, spacious, had nice matching furniture, the beds were very comfortable and, most importantly, it had air conditioning. A minus point were the paper thin walls so things could be a little noisey until everyone settled down at which point you could hear a pin drop. The bathroom was clean and had hot running water within seconds of turning on the tap. They also provided full sized bath towels which, apparently, many Italian hotels don't.

Breakfast was a typical continental style with ham, cheese, cake, yogart, corn flakes, jam, honey, tea, coffee and fruit juice. Everything was fresh and trays were topped up on a regular basis. We only had breakfast while at the hotel so can't comment on the standard of the other meals; others in our party said how good the evening meal was (18 Euro for 4 courses).

The hotel itself was clean and funtional. Most of the staff spoke enough English for us to be understood. But beware of the Spectacled Dragon Lady in the breakfast room!! LOL

Situated in the centre of town it was literally a one minute walk to the shops, restuarants and the best ice cream parlour on the planet (turn right out of the hotel and walk 50 yards to the first triangle and it's on the left. Try the bannana and coconut flavours HEAVEN!!).

If we ever returned to Fuiggi we would have no worries about using this hotel again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a balcony.

“The hotel from hell”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

Do NOT under any circumstances stay at this hotel. During our stay in September 2011 the butter i spread on my toast was rancid, and another of our party opened her butter to find it black. Croissants for breakfast were pre-wrapped, and past their sell by date. The so called 'hot water' from the machine to make tea or coffee wasn't even luke warm. Fruit juice is served in plastic cups and is revolting. The food at dinner is revolting, and is thrown at you rather than served to you. The staff are mostly of the eastern european kind, who say they do not speak English. They are very unpleasant and extremely unhelpful. Groups of tourists staying at this hotel are kept segregated in the Dining room from other guests. The room was clean with a tiny bathroom, and the wall we overlooked wasn't very nice either.
This truly is the hotel from hell - do not go there.
