We stayed as a family of three on a Leger coach holiday common with most other reviews here.
The accommodation - We were a family of three full fee paying adults (despite our daughter being 15) opting for one room.
So what we had, I would suggest was a standard double room with another bed shoe horned into the corner. Which meant it only had a small desk plus two chairs... Why put fitted wardrobes in hotel rooms? Where do you leave three peoples luggage if you can't put them on top of them! They end up just lying around the floor.
We had the usual selection of minor gripes with the room, which we were prepared to live with, see pics, ie exposed pipes in the shower, shower door hanging off, phone socket hanging out, rather primitive concertina door affair on the toilet/shower room, basic TV with remote held together with tape, okay we could live with that.
But when the metal roller blind stuck down (cleaners close them apparently) leaving us in like a darkened cell as no natural light could come in, by day two of it being stuck (and our complaints to the hotel manager had achieving nothing) we complained officially to the drivers and it was repaired the next day. Still...two nights we endured with it stuck down.
Breakfast - very minimalistic: lady serving tea or coffee, no self service, one choice of cereal, one bowl of yoghurt, no fresh fruit, some bread roll things in plastic bags, couple of assorted bread baskets with bread which would have benefited from a toaster, (not provided) ham, cheese, mini jam/honey pots, boiled eggs and that was about your lot!
After the first couple of days your enthusiasm wains about getting to breakfast early once you realise that was it! Come early or late. Even the UK pot noddle in your room starts to look appealing!
Evening meal we didn't bother with, can't comment but for the price, (won't divulge that) but for less you can go down town and have a drink a one course meal, possibly a cheap desert and still come under their price for evening meal. Usually we went down in a group so you can have a look around etc.
Other facilities - well rely can't think of much else, no swimming pool, gym or jacuzzi, there was inside lounge, TV room, sun chairs outside, (overlooking the coach/car park) When the manager was around she would do drinks. But to be honest we did not spend that much time at the hotel.
One thing I will mention on a positive is that how speedily the manageress got her own doctor out to see my wife for insect bites.
General points - the hotel has nice views, reasonably close walking distance to the town, although you are rather taking your life into your hands with the local drivers as there are no pavements for the first part.
In conclusion - the hotel did put a bit of a dampener on the holiday, a nice hotel can just set your holiday off! Unfortunately for a 3 star (not sure who awarded them that, or if they just put it on themselves) this did not live up to expectations. When even the coach drivers had not heard of it, (both experienced guys, who incidentally I could'nt fault) Had to drive around back roads looking for it, this should have rung alarm bells!
Why were they changing hotels(Leger)? I am not going to make any comments here myself, but ask yourself...in today's current economical climate, with rising prices, margins are slimmer, where does one look to cut costs?
