“Fantastic!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2010

Superb b&b in Ferrara!!! My husband and I truly enjoyed our short stay and will surely return upon our next trip to Ferrara. Ferrara is a beautiful city ( the tiny, oldest osteria is not to be missed among many other historical sites ) and the b&b Delizia Estense is perfect regarding the spacious room, amenities, cleanliness, staff and location. *date of stay is not march '10 but march '09 ( can't select that date ) but we just had to include this wonderful b&b even though the review is older

“A great place to stay in Ferrara”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2010

The B&B is located in the center of Ferrara, about 15 minutes walk, through old Ferrara, from the town's main sights. It's right next to the Palazzo Schifanoia which was great for us as it was one of the museums on our planned sightseeing route.
We had a modern, spacious, well furnished apartment room that slept all us adults no problem. There was a bathroom and kitchenette with the usual basic kitchen facilities, and loads of room to put away luggage, clothes etc. It was also very clean.
We asked for breakfast for the first day of our stay and it was good, pastries, cereals, coffee, tea. The breakfast room is small but homey and we had our first chance to practice some Italian with a couple from Rome who gave us some ideas on where to visit.
The staff were polite and welcoming and were very patient with our bad attempts to speak Italian.
One of my traveling companions used the internet facilities and said they were good and worked well.
We also used the hotel's free bicycle service and it was great fun. Ferrara really is a "city of bicycles" there are heaps of cycle routes.

I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Ferrara. Thanks Delizia Estense for a great stay!

“Lovely room with great use of space, comfortably slept 3 adults!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2010

We stayed in room 8 at the Delizia Estense in July 2010, room 8 is a bit of a converted attic room I guess. Though it can't have been much more than 40 square feet (if that!) The room comfortably slept myself & my partner in the bedroom, as well as my sister on the sofa bed next door. The apartment uses space extremely well and never feels cramped, with sliding doors on the bathroom/ensuite and cupboards built in wherever possible offering lots of storage.

In addition to this there are cooking facilities, including a fridge freezer, microwave oven and double hob as well as cutlery, saucepans etc. Breakfast was provided from 8 to 10 and consisted of pastries, cake and hot drinks/juice. All very tasty!

Despite the weekend being 38 degrees, (30+ at night) the room remained cool thanks to the aircon. We had a lovely time in Ferrara, which is a beautiful city of cobble streets lined with bars, restaurants and some stunning architecture. All within a 10 min walk of Delizia Estense. The service at the hotel itself was friendly and informative, and whilst we didn't make use of the free bike service, it's a great idea as Ferrara's quiet roads lend themselves to exploration.

I'd highly recommend the hotel, and expect to return in the future!

What a lovely place! I couldn't ask for more. Great service, great location, beautiful, modern room. Ferrara is really a beautiful city to stop by and we took advantage of the B&B's free bicycles to really enjoy the city.

“Does not honour reservations”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2008

We contacted the property three weeks ahead of our stay and confirmed a double room. Just two days before flying to Italy, Delizia Estense calls to say that the room is no longer available. They offer to arrange a room in another bed and breakfast; but we prefer to make our own reservation based on reviews and not their needs. I think it's a shame that this property does not honour its reservations, given that it otherwise looks lovely. I'm particularly annoyed because we made our reservation so far in advance, and they gave us such short notice.
