“super stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

We stayed at this hotel for a week, our trip was by train with Travel Editions,. we were on a DB&B basis.
A spacious clean ensuite (shower only) room with, flat screen TV, and balcony, as with many foreign hotels, no tea making facilities.
There is an outdoor pool, in Oct we found it a bit too cold - on the fifth floor a hot tub and a gym.
Breakfast was a help yourself eat as much as you like buffet which was excellent. Our dinner consisted of a buffet for starter, followed by a starter from the menu, main course and pudd. Our menu was limited, but the staff were willing to find something else if there was nothing you liked. Everything was well presented and freshly prepared as was breakfast. Wine about £15 a btl, no jugs of water, litre btls 3 euros - anything you didn't drink was kept for the next night.
Couldn't fault the staff, it was the end of a long season for them and they were all still cheerful.
The hotel is situated a few mins walk from the beach, it also has its own beach - I should think it will be busy in the summer- places were closing for the winter, but we thought it lovely and peaceful.

“True hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

We had a fantastic 2 nights here. The staff could not be nicer. They went out of their way over and over for us (even lent us an adaptor for the UK), internet was free, bikes we free to borrow. It was very cute with random old objects around the hotel , like a singer, a doll, a motorbike. The bath was really cool with jacuzi functions. Pool was great, hot tub a little cold. The town itself is very quaint. Really cute antique market on sunday. We took the bikes and cycled to St John the Baptists Chapel which I would highly reccomend. Food was fine, buffet starter and a few choices for dinner. The staff really made the stay for us. It was also very clean.

We were very pleased with every aspect of our recent stay with the Titterington group and the facilities were excellent. The staff were all very good and we were always made to feel very welcome

Room Tip: we had a suite on the third floor, but that was just chance, but it overlooked the pool area.

“Nice stay but missing some points.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

This is a nice new hotel in the center of the town. The suites are junior suites and are confortable. The roof spa is basic and just a plus, don't consider this hotel a SPA hotel. This is your best choice in Diano Marina and probabily in whole Liguria but unfortunately some of the personell was unfriendly, unpleasant and unprecise, quite annoying for a stay which should be focused on the wealth and relax.
The night receptionist didn't aswer the phone (we had problems finding the hotel as it's not precisely where indicated). The lady at the daily reception was completely not yelding, disappointing and even didn't accomodate us a late check-out due to the late check-in because of their fault to don't answer the phone.
Overall a very nice building which may be managed much better.

“Believe the hype”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

We were looking forward to our fortnight in Hotel Torino based on the many positive reviews and we were not disappointed.

The service from all of the hotel staff but especially the maitre d' Roberto and his team in the restaurant was excellent.

Our room (superior double) was comfortable and spacious with ample wardrobe space plus plenty of room for a travel cot for our 10 month old baby. The one negative would be the lack of a bath - which was only an issue for our baby who doesn't like showers! The room was efficiently air conditioned.

Breakfast served on the fifth floor terrace overlooking the rooftops of the town (with the option to be indoors or outside) was a buffet consisting of pastries, cereals, cold meats and cheese etc. Plenty of choice and all very tasty - our breakfast saw us through to dinner on several occasions.

Dinner commenced with a buffet of antipasti, followed by a first course - which always included a choice of soup and pasta as well as two other dishes - and a main where a choice of fish, at least two meats and a vegetarian option were offered. Everything we ate was well presented and tasty. A decent selection of wines at not unreasonable prices helped to wash everything down.

The swimming pool was clean, if a little cool, but there was a lack of shade until late in the day. There was also a jacuzzi on the fifth floor.

The hotel has a room for children which was a nice touch and our daughter was spoilt for attention by all of the staff.

The location in the centre of town, a couple of blocks from the seafront and close to the pedestrianised zone was great, and to have parking across the road very convenient.

There is a well equipped fitness room, although we didn't avail ourselves of that particular facility.

We don't tend to visit the same location twice - too many places to visit - but of we were to return to Diano Marina we would have no hesitation in staying again at Hotel Torino and similarly would be happy to recommend it.
