“Look elsewhere”

eOkay our stay started with a late night arrival at the Rome Airport, we arrived and looked for a driver with our name or the hotel name on a board as per my email when I booked both the hotel and the driver months beforehand. No One there waited awhile rang the hotel, "no we have no driver booked, find your own way here". Luckily there were private cars at the airport which we hired to take us at "less than the included price". On arrival he apologised an put us in a bigger room, with a lounge, however as it was dark and the lights didnt work this wasnt a lot of use. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. In the morning we suffered through a horrid breakfast with no decent coffee and very loud english people in the room. We were then asked if we could move our shuttle to the boat till eleven, I said that would be too early she said no they allow you on from 9am, silly me believed her as she worked in a hotel in the port town. Guess they were that desperate to get ur bags out of their foyer, boarding began at 2pm, so she jut expected us to sit there for three hours.

“Medical emergency necessitates a 2-week stay”

Admittedly, this review comes from a perspective not considered by the ordinary holiday traveler, but it speaks volumes about the Hotel Traiano and its staff. While aboard a cruise ship, my husband got very sick and ended up spending 2 weeks in the Civitavecchia hospital recovering from pneumonia. Making a hurried decision with little guidance, I checked into the Hotel Traiano, just 2 kilometers or so from the hospital. It turned out to be a excellent choice. The rooms were large, very clean, and well attended to on a daily basis. The breakfast bar was good with lots of fresh breads, fruit, and juices. Best of all, the staff (Johnny, Veronica, Elisa, and Luciana) were welcoming and accommodating to me in all ways imaginable. I cannot say enough good about them.

“Pre-Cruise Stay”

Stayed here one night before sailing away on a cruise. We arrived about 1300hrs and were upgraded (without asking) to a rooftop suite. Large rooms but chilly at night, heating wasn't working right (and I didn't call it in). Great breakfast and friendly and helpful staff. Small grocery store a couple of hundred yards away for those last minute purchases, toiletries etc. Would happily stay there again, good value for money.

“Good choice for pre-cruise stay”

We requested transportation from Rome airport to the hotel when we made the reservation. The driver was at the designated place and got us to the hotel timely. Upon arrival at the hotel at 8:30am (following overnight flight from US) we were pleased to be informed that our room was ready. The room was somewhat dated, but clean and comfortable. The helpful hotel staff directed us to the shortcut to the train station, and recommended the BIRG ticket which includes local transportation in Rome. We were able to spend several hours in Rome, then returned to the hotel for a quiet night's sleep. In the morning the hotel provided a free shuttle directly to the check-in point for the cruise ship. Good location, good service, and very convenient.

“Great for taking a Cruise from Civitavecchia for English speakers”

Hotel Traiano is very helpful to American cruiseship tourist. A free shuttle to the cruise port is included in your nights' stay. The staff is friendly and helpful, bedrooms are neat and clean and the breakfast is good with a variety of selections. We stayed on two different occasions for two different crusies, one in September, 2011 and another in October 2011. In the future, we will use Hotel Traiano again.
