Hotel Tourist has a perfect location on the beach of the north shore of Sicily, not an hour's drive from Palermo airport and close enough to walk to the old part of Cefalu. It is in the middle of a bay with gorgeous views from the balconies of front rooms of Cefalu to the east and sunsets to the west. The service here was personable, and Daniela even helped us call in Italian to arrange our next accommodation! We enjoyed the complementary breakfast, the availability of parking, and the fantastic pool. Restaurants and shops are barely 10 minutes away walking, and the old town of Cefalu is charming as well as easy to navigate by foot. A final great note were the reasonable rates.

I took a party of 14 and stayed seven days. The rooms were comfortable, mostly having sea views, some with sea facing balconies. On street parking outside. Own pool and private beach area. Staff very friendly, welcoming, efficient and caring. Food provided, even as a pre-booked group, was surprisingly plentiful, appetizing, varied and original. Special diets were catered for at a moments notice. Comfortable lounge area where entertainment is occasionally provided. A party atmosphere prevails.

Mind you we were there in the beginning of the tourist season, but still the closed pool area was in the beginning a disappointment. When we asked the staff where we could sunbathe - they organised sun lounges by the (empty but clean) pool.
We didn't hear any building noise even though the other side of the hotel was obviously being upgraded.
Breakfast was plenty and nicely laid out.
Staff just couldn't so enough for you.

downside for us was the long distance to the town - but had we been there later on in the year, the open air club next door might have proven to be the real problem.

all in all, it's a nice 2** hotel in process of upgrading. value for money was good so. all in all just what you'd expect for the money we paid.

We traveled in Sicily for 2 weeks staying in nice hotels rated at around $100-120 and were never disappointed except
here in Tourist:
1. service poor: nobody to help with luggage
2.room in poor state: the outside blinds were BROKEN and could not be closed
3. the maintenace of the room is disastrous: paint, ventilation, and so on.
We certainly do not recommend such a poor quality hotel at such a high price.
