Spent a warm and sunny week with wife, daughter and grandchildren att Astro Suites. A very new facility in Cefalu with lots of ambition and a perfect location. Service impecable and forthcoming. Very clean considering the sandy guests arriving from the beach all the time.
Cooking in a kitchenette has its shortcomings, though. The nearness to citycenter is an advantage with all exiting restaurants.

I have just concluded one of the more relaxing holidays I've had since the kids arrived. Astro Suite Hotel provides the best possible settings for anyone who wants minimal stress, without being stuck in an all-inclusive compound in the middle of nowhere. The beach is right there (with free sunbeds), big supermarket just 2-3 minutes walk, Cefalu centre just a short stroll away, nice pool area with tables, helpful reception, nice outside patio breakfast room etc. All very convenient and pleasant. A few other things were absolute exquisite and need to be mentioned separately 1) the cleaning ladies did a fantastic job, our rooms were spotless everyday (before we came back and made a mess again) and were always lovely to us and the kids. Same with the breakfast staff, super friendly. 2) the hotel is a very good mix of hotel and holiday apartments; it provides the best of two worlds. Good hotel breakfast in the morning, daily cleaning service like in a hotel, yet with a functional kitchenette and the independent feel of a (small) apartment. None of that crap that you are not allowed to make tea or bring foods to your room (yes there are such places!). 3) The roof terraces are fantastic with complete view and a secluded feeling. I went up to do yoga there and was on my own both mornings and afternoons (some corners are always shady). This really made my week!
A few things could get better; each suite is only issued one key-card and there is no doorbell. This was a problem for three adults and 2 kids sharing, since it often meant endless knocking on the door until someone finally heard (unlikely if on the balcony, in the shower or sleeping). Also, you can't close the door to the roof terrace from the outside, nor open it. This resulted in me being locked out on the roof one afternoon when some people politely shut the door behind them.
I would highly recommend this to anyone traveling with kids, or to anyone at all! Location and cleanliness are top priority for me, and this place had it down!

This hotel is located perfectly. The beach is 2 minutes walk, you get free beds and parasol from the hotel. The city centre is 10 minutes walk at most. The rooms are big, clean, with free wifi. Breakfast is a bit mediocre. You should ask for fresh cappuchino, don't try the coffee machine.

I was at a hotel in August 2011 with my parents. The Hotel is excellent, great location, the room is huge and very well laid out, perfect. The beach in front of the hotel service is available to guests, the sea is calm and pleasant. Parking is ample and without problems. The Hotel is near the center, so it is possible to make a really nice walk in the evening. The hotel service is the most important, people are very kind, especially Mr Giovani reception, Mr. Maximo and personal storage room and breakfast. Definitely I will be back to the hotel and I am indicating to all friends
