“A great, friendly place to stay in a lovely seaside location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

We stayed here for two weeks in July/August 2011 and found it great accomodation. We booked a two bedroom apartment for a family of four and it was light, clean, spacious and fantastically situated. It had a balcony that looked right over the harbour and the beach. The family that run the apartments were extremely friendly and helpful and spoke good English. The only points I would urge people to note is the need to pay extra for linen/towels (10 euro pppw), air conditioning (10 euro a day) + breakfast (although we chose to go self catering).

Room Tip: Make sure you get an apartment with a balcony and seaviews

“Mixed experience at Fiorella”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

We had a mixed experience at this residence. We travelled with young children, aged between 12 years and 11 months. Cattolica is a lovely little place with some nice places to eat out, and the apartments are spacious, clean and well equipped. Ours had a huge balcony overlooking the sea and two bathrooms. There were a few problems, however. The owners were not that friendly to us, shooting the breeze with the Italian guests but barely mustering up a Ciao for us. It is very hard to park nearby (there isn't really a space reserved for you as a guest - they say there is, but the owners use it for their car!) as the village is very busy and if you can't find a place in the free carpark (often full) it's seven euros for the day. And if you are after a good night's sleep, don't stay here. The complex is right in the middle of town, and directly opposite a square where cabaret and karaoke singers perform every other night until after midnight - great if you're a party animal, but not if you are travelling with kids or after a bit of r&r . At weekends the place is packed - we're talking the West End on a Saturday night - until the early hours. It was very hot when we were there and we coped without air con for the first four days but on day 5 asked if we could have it on (ten euros a night). That night, a huge amount of water leaked out of one of the units at about midnight so we had to put a saucepan underneath it to collect the water, and turn it off. This was very dangerous - we could have slipped on the stone floor while carrying the baby etc etc. We told the owner next day, and he came up and said he'd try to get it fixed but even after this only one unit out of two actually worked for the next two nights. When we went to settle up, he'd charged us 70 euros (ie for the full seven days). When we said it should only be 30 euros (if that, as it didn't even work properly), he accused us of breaking the air con unit by bending back the front panel (we hadn't touched it!) and of being 'ridiculous' for querying the bill. We felt he was rude and disrespectful to us as guests and ripped us off over the aircon. This left a nasty taste in the mouth and we wouldn't go back.

“very satisfactory”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2009

Seventeen years ago my husband and I, we booked to go to Cesenatico, but due an overbooking,Thomson Holidays reallocated us to Cattolica at Fiorella Residence. We soon realise that we found the ideal spot for our future summer holidays!
The room was spacious and clean and with the view of the port and sea!! The beach was two minutes away and plenty of restaurants within walking distance.Franco, the owner, and his wife Nina, were always at hand to help in any ways to make your stay very comfortable. On the end of our fantastic week ,we booked with Thomson rep.for our next year holiday at the Fiorella. Year after year all our summer holidays were at Fiorella,we couldn't ask for a better location and friendly hosts. Trough the years we have seen the improvement at the hotel and the effort to give to the guests a pleasant and comfortable stay. I definitely recommend to anybody who is looking for a relaxing and friendly accommodation.

“Don't go there!”

It seems this part of Italy has an issue with British visitors and this hotel was no exception. We found the Itialians to be beyond rude, if they didn't like the look of you in a restaurant they wouldn't serve you, this wasn't peculiar to us but happened to a number of people we spoke to in different restaurants. The hotel itself is adequate but I have not stayed anyway since my youth hostelling days where I was expected to clean the room myself and the list of rules insisted that we took out the rubbish daily. The owner was the only memenr of staff that we ever saw and was rather unhelpful mos tof the time. Would recommend the hotel, nor the resort which was beautiful but sadly our custom was not wanted.
