“We loved it!”

We have just returned from rimini staying at the Acropolis for 7 nights. This is a three star hotel, but is more like a two star.
But it comes down to what you want,if you want to stay in your hotel most of the time go to a 4-5 star hotel. If you want a hotel to use as a place to shower and sleep then this hotel is great and is in a perfect location..
Its a 2 minute walk to the beach, which is excellent.Newsagent and beach shop across the road, chemist and arcade for the kids around the corner, with a cheap supermarket 10 minute walk away.Center of town, where all the action is,is less than 10 minutes away, lovely stroll by the beach front.Shops are great and are good value for money, but stay out of the designer shops unless you are loaded.
We were on half board, the breakfast was great, ham, cheese, meats, cereals, cakes, coissants, jams, rolls, different types of bread, tea, coffee and two types of juices. You have to remember that this is italy and its a continental breakfast, don't expect, toast and a full english.
We had the evening meal, which is a three course meal, and don't forget that the meals are not what you expect over here,so be prepared to try these things. We would go for bread and breakfast next year so we can try the resturants in the evening. We were a party of seven, three were teenagers, one 11 and an infant. They found some of the dishes difficult as it was food they have never tried before, but on the whole the food was excellent.
This hotel was good value for money, fantastic people who run the hotel, very helpful and most speak english.
The hotel and cattolica itself is great,so much we are booking up to go back next year.If you are a family on a budget, then this hotel is worth looking at.

“worth the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2007

just come back from 2 weeks in cataloica , staying at the acropolis hotel. it was excellent value for money. of course good and bad points.
the bad to start, i had no balcony, no toletries are really provided like in many hotels apart from hand soap. breakfast was a disappointment. no fresh fruit. and is a cold buffet only though this is well stocked. decor is basic in rooms dont expect plush rooms. they are functional and others say here can be noisy at night but have air con (5 euros a day) and keep window shut and you will be fine, no pool just a roof terrace.
now the good points. location is great, a min and your on the promenande to take 5-10min walk into centre.or take a right at bottom and you are in the fishing port within 2 mins and then on to neighbouring resort gabbice mare in 5mns.
noddy train stops just down from hotel ideal for couple of trips. i reccomend gradara. medieval town worth a visit 8euro each for return.
evening meals were of good standard you order your selection the night before from choice of 3 starters and 3 mains then a selection of desserts, plus salad buffet you help yourselves to. dinner is 1/2 7- 1/2 8 only. you can choose lunch instead of dinner at any time if on half board if want to try one of the many restaurants in area. and owners eat in restaurant with you every night.
staff friendly and helpful (they may not look it, but are).
rooms were spacious. i was booked as a single but had a twin room plenty space. and hangers in wadrobe but no hairdryer.
bar in hotel is quiet but cheaply priced and comfortable.

on whole i thought i got a bargain and was more than happy. its a nice resort to stay in. choose a diff hotel if you want pool and that or you pay for beach. there are a couple free beaches but they dont have loungers or shade its you and a towel.

it is very popular with italian holiday makers.

“Great Food”

This hotel is in an excellent location for the beach and town centre but at the front it can be noisy at night due to the traffic outside heading for the promenade. Howe ver if you have the air conditioning on and windows closed it is fine but you have to pay 5 Euros each day if you want the air con on which is worth it in the busy season.

The food is excellent, the staff excellent and the room was kept clean daily and was comfortable. The roof terrace promised in the brochure was not as expected but the views are terrific from it but there were no sun beds or facilities up there.

All in all the location, rooms and food still make it worth staying in

“hotel acropolis”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2007

My wife and I have just returned from a seven day break at the Hotel Acropolis which has been very pleasant. We were greeted upon our arrival by a senior member of staff and very speedily booked into the hotel. Our room was basic but clean with shower and balcony and double bed which was a little hard with pillows to match. Dining Room was again pleasant and we were booked in for half-board . Proprietor was willing to change evening meal for lunch if we advised him which was a very good gesture. Excellent salads were available each day although on occasions meals were a little below par. Nice to have waiter/waitress service from very friendly staff I believe were all part of the proprietors family. We travelled as part of a package with Direct Holidays but would certainly consider using the hotel again if we visit Cattolica in the future.

“the friendly family”

The hotel has an excelent location, beach almost next door,"Little train" stop outside,Saturday market up the same street. This was our second stay with Mario + his lovely family.A few staff changes since last time but still a very nice bunch.Hotel was exceptionly clean as before.Food good, breakfast was-juice+tea/coffee, cereal, toast, cheese, cold meat, eggs etc.,dinner-salad buffet+3 choices for starter+3 for main course + varied deserts. As I have a sensitive tummy+eat no fish+little meat,I could have 2 different starters(good size portions).Lunch was also available with same amount of courses +choices as dinner. We had a front room with a full en-suite with a power shower cubicle. Some rooms have wet rooms as quite a few disabled guests use this hotel. The family, grandkids and all,eat in the dining hall with the guests. There was a new beach bar this year, handy for snacks+drinks.A good, comfortable, hotel for a family on a budget..
