“Nothing changed since Mussolini's time...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

We just spent few days in a junior suite. 4 stars sup??? no way!!
Parking- at 300 m - they pick you up only for the arrival and departure, during your stay you ll have to walk and enjoy the nice emilia romagna winter..

Staff is smiley but dont wait from them to anticipate your needs... if you dont ask you wont get!!
Lack of staff- noone behind the concierge desk, so ..you want to book a spa? the reception will give you the phone!!! you want champagne glass because the minibar of your suite got only plastic glasses? the reception will send you to ...the ballroom!!! You ask for a hair dresser in your room? you ll be sent to the village!!
Room service: even worst!!! you ask for a continental breakfast with expresso ?? it's already a looong way to order it and if you re not a food and beverage expert you will get the minimum vital breakfast! you order croissant with cream? you ll get only one on the plate with no jam, butter,or milk of course! you ask 4 min boiled egg? unfortunatley you ll get it cold but it certainly boiled for veeery long!! and of course forget the salt, pepper and bread!!!
Housekeeping: dont waste your time to put "dont disturb" sign (of course the one that you written yourself before to go to bed)... 9am she is in!!!! but dont expect evening service.. it wont happen!! so you ll ve to put yourself your the 50 years old dusty blanket on your bed if you check in after 6pm, by the way, as you know duvet cover didnt exist at the Duce time so..forget it!!
The Spa: we took the "percorso termale"....this place is a kind of military hospital, candels that you see on the advert never been lighted since!!! steam cave made with fiberglass with shower who doesnt work.. relaxing area with loud music and the staff who will cross the place every 2 min to go to their storage.. I must recognize that the brochures and the marketing are well done, but to look at the massage room will remind you the hospital of Lawrence of Arabia!!
Except all this, go to have a drink in the bar, (only close to the bar because you ll never get anyone if you sit in the other lounges!) Enjoy the Art Deco style, with the beautifull smell of the exhaust of the steam from the thermes.
But if you want to forget all this, do 5 kilometers and go to the "Rosa bianca agriturismo" wonderful place, exceptional food, awesome service!!!!

Dear Gabriela06320,

thank You for the notice, reading what you write it looks like that everything didn't work, nothing, all is gone bad.

We apologise for that and we hope you don't have to live another experience like this one.

On our side we try to take Your comment as a 'push up' to do a better service, we surely are not the best place in the world and we also don't say that.

We think that probably are not the right place for You, looking at what you have reported above we also would not go in a place like this. LOL!
We also didn't know that Lawrence d' Arabia had a hospital, thank You! :)

Just one question:
Why, after such a long speech on what is wrong and didn't work in here like services, times, concierge, spa, massages, housekeeping, etc.. You promote another place that is totally different from us and have none of these services and facilities??
We know that place (they cook very well and You can order wonderful Tagliatelle !!! ) and we know what You're advertising, but remember that internet is global for either You, us and all the people in the world

“GREAT PLACE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

This hotel is a beautiful historical building in the quaint and very charming town of Castrocaro Terme with a great Spa facility. If you are anywhere in the region between Northern Tuscany and Romagna, this is the place to stay. The hotel was recently renovated but has kept its original charm. The facilities are first class, the service is impeccable and the setting with manicured gardens and parks is just splendid. Highly recommended.
There are plenty of interesting places to visit in the neighborhood. This region has a strong and excellent gastronomic tradition and you cannot go wrong in any restaurant.

“Interesting Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 July 2011

We stayed at the hotel during the Rally delle 3 Valli event. As we arrived at the hotel, the baggage handler was ready to help us with our luggage eventhogh we did not have much to carry. The check in was smooth and quick, eventhough the hotel seemed full. We where escorted to our room wich had splendid view. The room was clean, the bath amenities where of good quality. The bed was confortable and we liked the linen.
We booked a couples massage at the spa and we also used the gym, the staff was very friendly and helpfull, the facilities where imaculate. We decided to have diner at the restaurant (Ristorantino) we noticed the consistency of good service, food and the verall restaurant experience was delightfull. As we where leaving the restatuant we where greeted by the general manager who was very friendly and inquired us about our stay at the hotel.
We really enjoyed our experience and would defenetly recomend this hotel Spa to others!

“Fantastic value, great style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2008

Our son was born in May 2006 and was just about old enough to fly with us for a short Summer break away in August. We went to the web, searched Ryanair for a cheap flight and found a bargain flight to Bologna. In typical Ryanair style, we found that what they called Bologna, was in fact Forli. But not to worry; further investigation revealed that although 50 or so kilometres down the autostrada from Bologna, it was well situated close to Rimini, San Marino and Ravenna.
So the next step was finding a hotel nearby. We struck gold on Last Minute.com with the Grand Hotel Castrocaro at Castrocaro Terme, offering 4 star luxury at just £34 a night! Not each...for the room, including a fantastic buffet breakfast!
The hotel was a design classic, an Art Deco building of 1939 vintage, restored to retain all its features in 2000. We were given a lovely large room, high ceilinged, beautiful decor, lovely furnishings, marble in the bathroom, very comfortable.
The hotel has lovely parkland around it, with both outside and inside pools. The town is also very pretty, clean and tidy, with lots of flowers everywhere, in common with lots of Spa towns.
We hired a little Fiat Panda diesel from Hertz at the airport (£19 a day) and in 8 days had visited Bologna twice, Venice and Florence, Rimini, Milano Marritimo, Ravenna, San Marino and many other delightful places within reasonable travelling distance. A fantastic stay and a memorable holiday.

The price? Although August is the busiest and most expensive time to holiday there, I can only surmise that because it is inland and a Spa resort hotel, it is low season for them. Normal price is more like £80 / £100 a room.

“Loved the style”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2008

The service was very good, as well as the food. Their breakfast offers unlimited choice, and you can have it over wonderful views over the park. Th emanagement was flexible enough to allow me to leave my suitcare at their reception desk after having checked out. The live music at the bar is an added bonus. On the down side: room 170 doesn't have a good view; the receptionist seemed unwilling to take telephone messages for me while I wasn't in my room. Overall a good stay though.
