“Warm, friendly, wonderful.”

This is a treasure - surrounded by vineyards, it's very quiet and serene. Family run B&B; everyone was great and the visit perfect. This location is off the beaten path, but not far from Florence. Decor is very dated, but charming. No on-site restaurant but breakfast, which was included, was first-class - Continental, not American, style. Our suite had a kitchen so we had alternatives and preferred not to eat out every night anyway. Beautiful sculptures everywhere. Wines from the family vineyard were available, reasonably priced and excellent. This is not a hotel for individuals who don't have a car, want on-site dining, valet, concierge, room service, etc. What made the visit so nice, was the beautiful location, the family that operates the hotel, and the quiet - barely noticed that the other amenities weren't available. PS Have good directions, because of the location, we had quite a time finding it - especially in the dark.

“Ok, but badly equipped apartment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2010

I have stayed in probably 30 Agriturismos, apartment rentals and B&Bs throughout Italy so my review here is based on what I have experienced in other places.

We paid 80 EUR for an apartment with two bedrooms, which was perfect for us as two adults with a small baby, which is not super cheap for this kind of accommodation but certainly not extravagant.

The plusses:
Great location. very quiet, beautiful views, short driving distance from some cute towns. Charming old building. Nice swimming pool. The heating in the rooms worked well.

The minuses:
We had an apartment with a kitchen because we like cooking and because with a child it's handy to be able to eat at home and fix some food. The kitchen was the worst equipped kitchen I've come across. There were plates and knives, but no bottle opener, no cutting boards, no dishwashing liquid, no olive oil or pepper and salt, and a knife so blunt that it was only good for slicing ricotta. When I asked for a bit of olive oil for cooking (which in most apartments is just part of the inventory) they made me pay 10 EUR for a litre of oil. Since there was no dishwashing liquid (nor a dishwasher for that matter) we washed our dishes with handsoap. You can't expect people who come for just a weekend to bring (or buy) all those kind of basic things).

Strangely enough for a wine-producing farm, the only wine they had available for sale was a Rosso (no Chianti Classico available) from 2003. It was way past its prime, or corked (or both) and simply undrinkable. When i returned the bottle, they took it off the bill but were hugely displeased that i didn't like it, even when I said it could just be this bottle and asked them to taste it.

Breakfast wasn't worth the hassle- neon-coloured 'juice drink' and gooey pastry. We skipped it the second day.

So I can recommend this place if you're looking for peace and tranquility- but not if you're planning on doing some home cooking

“The perfect country getaway in the heart of the Chianti district of Tuscany”

Picture the movie- A Good Year starring Russel Crowe. We had it all, including the SMART car! This bed and breakfast is situated on a wine farm in the Chianti . It is quiet and peaceful and offers amazing views of the hills and valleys of the area.

Centrally located to explore the surrounding towns and countryside, it is the perfect base to return to, to unwind while sitting at the pool, enjoying the sunset and some Tuscan wine. Then when the evening draws on there are some true Tuscan restuarants to choose from in the surrounding villages- the type where you sit outside and savour the atmosphere as much as the food and wine!

Breakfast was nothing to write home about and the rooms are basic but comfortable, however the location and the setting made up for everything. Ambling through the rustic gardens in the early morning sunshine, looking out to the vista of what is pictured on postcards is what makes this place so magical.

“Great Place to Stay”

Brilliant location in the heart of Tuscany. Nice, quaint, clean rooms with great views. Breakfast was very Italian so there isn't really any western food but really what do you expect, it is Italy! The pool was brilliant. It was warm compared to most Italian pools. Service way good and all the staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to have a quiet holiday in Tuscany!

“aaaaaaahhhhh iiiiiiiiiitaly!”

one of the best locations for an agriturismo in the area, stealing beauty esque gardens, statues, fountains, swimming pool illuminated till midnight, old stone farm houses rennovated into lovely little ensuite bedrooms (meaning a great night's sleep due to the thick walls but a water tank which only held enough hot water for one hot shower per evening). Breakfast left me hungry but then they aren't likely to lay on a massive spread when there are only two guests in february i suppose. despite what another reviewer said about the woman at reception being rude, we found the two ladies there helpful and friendly (maybe she just gave that impression because she didn't speak english???). anyway, for what you pay you get a very very very good deal.
