the views are breathtaking . our room had a balcony overlooking the bay and mt vesuvius simply amazing. hotel room itself was nice, clean and as you would expect from a crowne plaza any where.

lots of places nearby to visit , sorento / pompei / naples.

down side is the hotel is middle of nowhere so getting to the hotel from the airport is an expensive taxi ride. also there are no shops. cafes at walking distance from the hotel. nearest train station atleast 25- 30 minute walk.

Stayed here on our recent trip to Italy. The pool faces the gulf and it's beautiful view. But we got a room adjacent to highway and can be traffic at night and noisy. Other than that, this place was great, clean and best suited to take trips to Sorrento/Positano on one side and Naples/Pompeii on the other side.

stayed one night on my way back from Rome December 2011, wanted to be closer to Naples airport.
good: spacious modern room with amazing Naples bay view: excellent sleep quality
bad: position - must be on wheels. hotel is located on the beach far far away from anything; park fee is 5E/day; personnel girl on check in was rude, even on wheels be aware of the fact that there is no parking place in nearby cities.

My husband and I and our daughter and son-in-law stayed at the Crowne Plaza in late December 2010. Our room overlooked the bay and Vesuvius and was quite breathtaking. The room was very modern, but as mentioned in other reviews we had an army of ants in the bathroom and in the bedroom to contend with. One evening maintenance showed up and sprayed---the smell from the insecticide was pretty horrendous and unfortunately did not do the job! If you are older and staying on this property please know that the bath tubs are very deep and you will need to exercise caution in getting in and out.

As also mentioned the trade off for the beauty of the view is that you are isolated. Do not even think of staying there without a car! There is no getting up and walking down the street for a coffee! You must drive to all locations.

During our week stay the one pc that was available to guest was broken. It was during the holiday time frame and so no doubt getting it repaired must have been problematic.

Because of the isolation we would not stay there again. Hopefully they will eventually fix the ant problem--but since its been noted for several years, probably wouldn't h old my breath. On the plus side,the view from our room and deck was simply beautiful.
