My wife and I stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon. We left all of the planning to our tripadvisor and good thing this hotel had a fabolous pool. During our 2 weeks in Italy we wanted some beach/relaxation time from the hustle and bustle of being a tourist. This Hotel was gorgeous, albeit was in the middle of nowhere and you probably would not want to travel these streets at night. The restaurant in the hotel was very expensive so good thing there were one or 2 options down the street from the hotel where you could find real authentic Italian food. The only problem was these restaurants opened around 7 or 8 if I recall. They had a shuttle service that would take you to the downtown so you could catch the train and go visit Pompi or Capri which was nice. If your looking for a great hotel, I would chose this one, only if you just wanted to stay around the hotel. Other than that location was horrible if you wanted to travel outside the hotel. Great service from staff and at the reception desk, very helpful and speaked multiple languages. One major problem that we had and some of the other guests we ran into had,was this hotel is also a venue for weddings. Weddings throughout the week. I think in our 4 day stay there was one night with no wedding attached to it. It made you feel out of place and the grounds in the back where you could of been, seemed to be off limits due to the weddings taking place. You were limited to your bedroom it seemed. Every wedding had fireworks at around 12 or 1, so if you wanted to sleep at night, well good luck!

We wanted a hotel near to the 'sites' outside of Naples and this one appeared to be very well situated and had great reviews, thank god for trip advisor or we may have missed this total gem, yes a car may make it easier to get around but we found that the case in most of this area outside of Naples it is perfectly located to visit all the sites.
Everything about the hotel is perfect, the food, staff, facilities, it really is total luxury. The gardens are paradise - if you are reading this you must be considering going - my advice is book it,you won't regret it!!!

La Medusa should be avoided unless you have a car. We stayed there two nights and regretted every moment. On the positive side, the room we stayed in was the best of our entire trip. It was large. It had a spacious and modern bathroom. The grounds of the hotel are lovely. The swimming pool looked nice although we didn’t use it. However, the cab ride to the Naples train station costs 95 euros. The cab to the airport costs 80. The shuttle service runs only 5 times a day and goes only to the Castellemare train station only. The last pickup is 17:10 so if you spend a longer day away, you pay for your own cab back (10 euros or so). The hotel serves a prix fix multi course dinner for 45 euros. If you want only a pasta course, that is 15 euros plus a 10 euro cover charge! If you don’t eat in the hotel restaurant, which we didn’t, you venture outside the grounds, which are bordered by a busy street which does not have sidewalks in some places. There are local restaurants nearby, but their quality is average at best. One evening, we went into Castellemare, hoping we could find some ‘quaint’ places to walk or to eat. We were told there is a nice walk along the beach with some restaurants. Well, it is a depressing, almost decrepit environment. The concierge we had in Positano was shocked that we were going to Castellemare. She told me to hang on to my purse—it is worse than Naples. JDB properties, who markets this place should hang their head in shame for sending people here. Again, if you have a car and don’t like to go for strolls after dinner and don’t mind spending your time in Italy isolated in the hotel, this is the place for you.

A five star hotel with warm and concerned staff. Fantastic, beautiful garden.

We had an excellent dinner at the "conservatory" part of the restaurant.
