Hotel Hermitage was portrayed as a 4 star property with all amenities to make one very comfortable. We had booked a suite with a view of the sea; a suite should mean a bedroom plus a sitting room/area. We were given a very small room--so small that 2 people could not pass at the end of the bed. We complained and the answer was " because you have a view and a balcony, we call it a suite." We had paid plenty and I might add that we had to wire the room charge from the U.S. to Italy before our arrival. The bathroom was tiny; the shower stall was so small that if one dropped his soap, forget it. One could not bend over to even wash his feet. The doors of the shower stall stuck and didn't want to slide. The free standing closet was rickety; clothes hangers were odds and ends that past guests had left behind. We were lucky to have a view. Most of the rooms face the parking lot. While we were there for 3 nights, the hotel hosted two very loud parties out on the pool deck beneath our room. The dining room staff was not professional. I had to almost argue with the manager to see a menu. (I like to know exactly what I'm ordering and what I'm paying.) The only thing wonderful about this property is the view; unfortunately only a half dozen rooms have a view. Be careful when considering this hotel. Ask plenty of questions.
