The Hotel la Selva accomplishes its room photos by taking a photograph of bedroom furniture in its lobby. The actual rooms resemble not so much Florentine elegance as the locker room in the YMCA - in decor and smell. Furthermore, unless you have rented a car, it will be impossible and even dangerous for you to explore Florence - which is a 50 Euro, 1-hour trip away by taxi, not the short walk promised on the website. The only inexpensive option is a bus that comes about five times a day, and to catch it you must wait in a road and risk getting hit by cars. There is no restaurant, no vineyard, nothing, excepting a sometimes-open restaurant down the street. They don't pick up their phone, and nobody speaks English (I speak Italian fine, but it may be a problem for some). I've never seen a business misrepresent itself to the extent the hotel has. Travelocity asked them about everything, they denied it (even the walk to Florence bit, easily verifiable by map), I had pictures to back it up. I've noticed Travelocity has since taken it off of their hotel list. You're much better off contacting a hotel in Florence proper - plenty of them list as being in Florence when in fact they are in the region and not the city. There are plenty of cheap, safe accomodations right by the Arno. Or - stay in Prato or Pistoia, both charming, and take the train in to Florence.
