“staying in a hotel being a coach tour guest (a first for me)”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2010

Our bus tour arrived quite late (after 22:00 p.m.)due to traffic jam. The owner of the hotel together with restaurant and kitchen staff were quite welcoming despite the hour of the evening. We were taken to the restaurant where we could dive into a very decent salad buffet and hot main courses plus dessert buffet. That was quite a cheering up.
Nothing to complain about the food during all week stay, beside the fact that the salad buffet as well as the dessert buffet was very much de same during the hole week. The dishes were ample and we could help ourselves to the salad buffet, followed by a second starter, a main course, and there was self service again to the dessert buffet, which included cheese and icecream. One could have a go to a second helping with the latter.

The bar would not be a place where you would want to linger for a nice evening either.

Everything was neat and clean in the hotel, rooms, bathrooms, swimming pool area, fitness area. A got a thank you note on the pillow from the cleaning lady, who appreciated the daily tipping... that was a first for me.

I found it quite disconcerting, that our group was served dinner at the very end of a long convenience annexe, not really in another building, yet separated from the guests in the real restaurant and furnished without any special charm.. although I did consider us not as cheap travellers (I might of course be wrong here, as I am not used to be part of a coach travel). We were served by rushing staff, who had to get drinks and food to us as fast as possible, enabling them to get back to the restaurant service. We appreciated the always kind and taking his time waiter "Werner".

2 very very tiny business centers containing a flat screen and a printer are at disposal of the customers, although there is no privacy due to glas doors and located in the mainstream corridor.

Hotel consists of several buildings, presumably added over the years, and quite long ways to walk to get from A to B and C and back. The elderly participants of our party felt the long distances quite strenuous.

The kindness of the staff in general depended very much of who was in charge, and who was dealing with you..

“Great Location friendly Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

Hotel was in beautiful location, room was lovely and spacious, nice view of local mountains. Just ask and they put coffee and tea in room. Food and service in restaurant was very good. Pool area was clean and tidy. limited parking and expensive wifi (three euros per hour in hotspot area) would be the only minus. Bressanone/Brixen is a lovely old town with a good selection of shops, The real bonus was the Brixen card, this gave you free travel on all local buses, trains and ski lifts plus free entrance to many local attractions. Could not recommend the hotel, town and area enough. Would definitely stay again

“1st Class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2010

Had originally booked at their Hotel Gasser a block away but because of some confusion in the booking process we were given a beautiful room at the Gruener Baum for the same rate. Nothing at all to complain about in our 1 night stay, breakfast was excellent, service was very good. They only had a limited number of free parking spaces and it was a bit crowded but typically European in that regard. The town is wonderful and only a block away from the Hotel, I think this whole area may be a bit under appreciated by travelers as it may get overshadowed a bit by the Val Gardena area

“A Quaint Hotel in a Quaint Town!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2008

I loved the quaintness of this town and the hotel matches the town. The location was great! The town center was just across a little bridge. The beds were good with good warm duvets and good pillows. The walls between rooms were thin, so it was noisy between rooms. The food in the bar will very good and the included breakfast was good. I would stay there again!

“Gorgeous sundeck and views of canal”

My mother and I stayed here a few years ago--it was our first trip to Europe so we weren't sure what to expect. Now that I've traveled more extensively throughout Italy and Austria, I know that this place is a gem. The people at the front desk were courteous and directed us wherever we needed to go, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms modern and clean, and we happened to have a room with a marvelous wrap-around balcony that provided a view of the town of Bressanone. Its almost disappointing visiting other places after staying at this hotel--they really set a standard.
