“FIRST CLASS HOTEL”

Where to start with this fabulous hotel. The location is excellent-right in the centre of Bardolino. We had a room overlooking the street and very much enjoyed people watching from our balcony, including those visiting the very good gelateria opposite the hotel. Our room was on the small side and although the fixtures and fittings were a little old they were of a good quality.
The hotel excelled in two areas.Firstly the breakfast, which was excellent served in a large dining room with outdoor tables on the patio.Everything was available including scrambled eggs and bacon, agood choice of cakes and pastries, fresh fruit salad,a juice maker to make your own drinks, varios cheeses and hams,3 types of honey, yoghurt in fact you name it they offered it.
Secondly, the pool area was something special-so relaxing. The modern pool was overlooked buy a gazeebo. The well tendered gardens were full of olive trees and various flowers and shrubs providing shade if you wanted it.The size of the gardens allows you to find your own space and you dont feel overcrowded. There was never a shortage of sunbeds.Free use of bikes was also welcome. This hotel is not cheap but you get excellent value for money.

“Tranquil and relaxing in the cente of Bardolino”

We have jst returned to uk after 10 days at hotel 4 stagioni. This is the first time at this particluar hotel though 12th time in Bardolino. We wanted a relaxing holiday and we certainly had one. The hotel was so clean and staff attentive and friendly. The breakfast selection and room was great and the choice wonderful. The gardens and pool are secluded and sun or shade it was your choice. We will definately come back next year.
The room was ok only next to lift and made it quite small but the bathroom was fairly large with walk in shower. The tranquil balcony however opened up the room. Room was cleaned to a high standard. It had a kettle. Would recommend you take own hairdryer the in bathroom is not very powerful. Great holiday. Cant wait till next year.

“The most perfect hotel in northern italy”

Having visited this hotel for the last 10 yrs it has just got better and better every year,The owner nadia and her son francesco have been the most perfect hosts nothing is to much trouble for them and there staff, Now to the hotel it is like staying in a wonderful stately home beautiful antique furniture spotlessly clean every single day The breakfast as extensive choice and you can wander in up till 10.30 , The bedrooms are sumptuously furnished to a high standard and the bathrooms are second to none. The new spa area is fantastic and very reasonably priced and the girl who does treatments although cannot speak english is expert in her job i leave feeling wonderfully relaxed and refreshed. There is extensive garden area with pool and jacuzzi and friendly staff on hand to serve drinks . I have travelled throughout italy over the past 38 yrs and this is the only hotel i have returned to year after year everything is just perfect The Hotel ,The Location ,The Town , The Country, Should be 5*****

“The good and the not so good...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2010

First the good....the hotel has a great location in Bardolino, ideally situated on a lovely street. The hotel itself has an old-world feel to it, the reception and lounge is quite charming with lots of antiques. Breakfast is one of the best I've had in the Italian Hotels I've stayed in, the buffet selection was vast with lovely fresh fruit, breads, meats and cheese. The garden/pool area is beautiful with plenty of sun loungers and lots of space among the shade of the trees.
Then the not so good....... the bedroom was quite small which is not in itself a problem but the main issue was the air conditioning or actually the lack of it, we asked on arrival how to get it working but were met with quite a snappy response from the blonde lady on the reception ( possibly the owner?). We did manage to get it going but in the entire week we were there, the room temperature hovered around 30 degrees. We were out and about all day but found it almost impossible to sleep at night in the heat, we had to get up and shower most nights at around 4am as it was just unbearable. As far as we could see all the air con system was doing was circulating the same warm air around the room. Apart from the air con issue the hotel was fine but perhaps a little lesson in staff friendliness wouldn't go amiss, while we did get what we asked for there was a lack of any friendliness or warmth. I'd probably rate this hotel as 6 out of 10.

“Hmmm not so sure about this one”

We have stayed at this hotel a few years ago and thought we would try it again. We were generally disappointed the hotel generally needs a bit of updating. We had a superior room but to be honest the fixtures and fittings in the room were looking very tired. Carpet was grubby blankets were stained and the towels were so thin you could almost see through them. The toiletries provided were inadequate with no shower cap also the toilet was situated far too close to the shower which meant having one foot in the shower whilst on the loo. The mini bar consisted of one beer and a few soft drinks....why bother?
The beds were two singles pushed together with an uncomfortable gap in the middle!!
On the positive side Anja who is the receptionist was a delight to deal with very easy and welcoming , the owner on the other hand was not at all welcoming she seemed to glare at everyone with a look of disdain.
The trip from the airport booked by the hotel for us was excellent 6 euros each way from Verona Brescia.
To sum up there are much better and more welcoming places to stay in Bardolino.

We are very sorry for your comment but we are sure that we do everything possible to give our guests a special and pleasant holiday. We thank you anyway for your opinion because it is a reason to improve in the future. It is obvious that we don't agree about all that you complained but we accept every point of view. Some complaints of you we don't consider justified for example the towels and the fixtures and fittings in the rooms. We have been renewing something in our hotel every year and we will continue to work on it. thank you again and see you next time
