I stayed here for 1 week with my partner for a hiking holiday. Our room had a lovely view of the mountains and we slept with the window open each night to fall asleep to the sound of the river running right by the hotel.
Ustaria Posta is in a small town called Badia. While there is not too much in Badia with regards to restaurants/pubs, we did have two lovely meals in the hotel's restaurant (menu is extensive (lots of options), nice list of local wines, delicious food) and also went to Badia pub which is 2 minutes away. Breakfast each morning provided many choices and we could not get enough of the speck! For more restaurant variety, the surrounding towns like La Villa were an easy bus ride (though they stop running in the early evening, so you will have to take some pricey taxis should you wish to dine in another town).
The family running the hotel were very nice and helpful. We do not speak Italian or German (or Ladin), so it was handy that the owners' son could help us with any of our questions in English.
Rooms were very spacious and clean. Nice wooden ceilings which made everything feel very warm and cozy.
From the hotel there are many hikes you can take without driving.. and also a lift which takes you to the top of Le Crusc, one of the most picturesque spots in the Dolomites.

Very nice people. Breakfast and diner are very good.

It is not one of the big resort hotels but just a little family owned hotel with a tremendous good kitchen and the Family Tavella will spoil you the whole holiday.
The best is the location in the Dolomites area, a bit outside of the crowds but still just 100 meters away from the slopes that are connected with the Dolomiti Superski area.
Can't wait to visit this wonderful place also in the summer.
