We stayed here for 4 nights in the beginning of June, 2007. It was a nice resort, with very friendly staff. The room was clean, with it's own little balcony/sitting area (except we were on the ground level..so it was like a little patio). There's also a tennis court that works quite well, and a soccer field (except the ball could have been better). The pool was nice, but it was a little too cold to swim in it, though the kids at the resort loved it.
The food was quite good. We had a different set menu every night. First we'd start with antipasti, then there would be two main dishes (dish 1 and dish 2), a vegetable dish, and then dessert. You could choose between 3 different main dishes each night, so that you could have a choice between soup, pasta, meat, or fish. It was quite nice, and the staff was great (always the same people/servers, so it was nice to get to know them).
There was also a free shuttle from the hotel to Baia Sardinia, where the beach is. There's a beach right by the hotel, but it's more like a bay/swamp looking thing.
Overall, I'd stay here again for a few days because it was a nice, family-run hotel. It isn't directly in Costa Smeralda, but it is close to all of the beaches if you have a car

We stayed at this hotel in June 2006 and had a marvellous stay. The staff is very friendly, also for little children. My daughter (21/2 years) had a great stay here also. The rooms are excellent and cleaned dailly very carefully. The facilities are very good. My husband even played a game of football with some members of the staff and some other hotel guests. The swimmingpool is very beautiful, there is also a pool for little children. Furthermore there are tenniscourts and a playground and last but not least a beautiful garden with a breathtaking view. The restaurant is good, although I would have liked it if we could have our dinner outside.
So we have had a nice and cosy holiday in hotel Airone and we will absolutely go back to Airone sometime soon.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel last week for 10 days and absolutely loved it.
The hotel is very clean and built in a typicel sardinian style. The rooms are very big (even the normal rooms) beautifully furnished and newly decorated, immaculately cleaned daily.
We live in Italy therefore have good knowledge of good cuisine and must say that the food was delicious. Although we had booked half board, we asked them for the daily option of choosing between either lunch or dinner (which not all hotels accept). Even the sports facilities are fine, the swimming pool is very nice and clean, the tennis courts are also kept well. If you were to forget your tennis kit (like I did) they have some spare tennis balls and rackets at reception.
The hotel is located perfectly - very close to the great locations of Baia Sardinia (3 mins) - Porto Cervo (less than 10 mins) - Cannigione (5 mins) + Arzachena (10 mins).
We were also delighted with all the staff who were so friendly and ever so helpful.
We will definitely be returning to this lovely family managed hotel.

Although this hotel has excellent outside facilities eg pool, 2 tennis courts and more it cannot be worth the 4 stars claimed. Communications before arrival were well conducted and appealing free add-ons were offered.

We left after one night because of poor service in not providing the type and quality of room agreed. The desk seemed paralysed by having to sort out the mess that had been created.

The hotel appears to be based on receiving a coachload of tourists each day causing dinner and breakfast to be a bear-garden.

A sign of very poor management was a foul toilet bt the swimming pool which noone in their right mind would be prepared to risk.
