“An amazing host, beautiful B & B, great find!”

What to say that hasn't been said? Francesco is one of the best hosts we've ever had. He has lovingly decorated his B and B and treats his guests with extreme TLC. The room we had was beautiful and quiet. As it was the winter season we had the whole floor to ourselves, including 3 beautiful terraces from which we could see the temples lit up at night. On arriving, he served us tea, coffee and cookies and answered our questions about Agrigento and the sights. I wish we had more than one night there.
Number one tip - print the map he supplies on his website about where to find the hotel. The map will serve better than a gps. There is parking on site and a lovely restaurant right there on the ground floor of the B and B.

“Thoroughly recommended.”

We spent one night here after viewing the Valley of the Temples. Francesco welcomed us and after showing us our rooms, invited us to the level above to see the view from the terraces and to have aperitifs. He was extremely hospitable, showed us around the B&B including photos of his ancestors and family and even gave us a short piano recital!

He gave us 3 recommendations for restaurants for dinner and we decided on Ex Panificio, where we had an excellent meal. Our rooms were spotlessly clean, quite spacious and attractively furnished.

Breakfast was great, with a good and varied selection of things on offer. We were due to leave for Palermo the next day, which was a public holiday. There was some confusion over the bus timetable for that day and Francesco then rang a taxi driver who was parked outside the station, to check if the train to Palermo was there. It was, so the taxi came to fetch 3 of us but as there was only 20 minutes or so until the train left, Francesco took 2 of us in his car, then he came into the station with us to book our tickets and helped us load our luggage onto the train.

We would like to have spent at least another night at Francesco's B&B as it was extremely comfortable and we would like to have had more time to explore Agrigento. Thoroughly recommended.

“One of the best!”

It was hard to find but definitely worth the effort. Francesco is a fabulous host, the rooms and living areas beautifully decorated and very clean, great view over the city and to the coast. Francesco offered us tea and cookies one afternoon, wine and hors d'oeuvres the next. He was very helpful in helping us with restaurant recommendations (go to the one on the ground floor - not fancy but some of the best food we had in Sicily) and how to get to the temples etc. I can't recommend it enough!!!!!!!!

“Terrazze di Montelusa- hard to find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

This place is in the midst of the town in a one way system and the roads are a bit of a nightmare. We had a suite which was pleasant and very spacious. There is a restaurant next to the hotel and it's easy to walk to the main street.
My one complaint is that breakfast isn't until 8.45 which is very late. Also everyone comes at once and the breakfast room isn't big enough. There is a terrace, which would have been great in good weather, but it was cool and windy when we were there.

“This B&B has mastered the art of hospitality and has great views of the Valley..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

This is truly one of the best B&B we stayed at during our 10-day driving tour of the island. Francesco is a top-notch and generous host. Every B&B owner should get tips for running a B&B from him. The B&B is great value for money.

I toyed with giving this place just a 4 star because of our harrowing experience in actually finding the place. Although we were given what seemed a clear map of the area, the map (or the city?) has got the name of an important street (Via Duomo) mislabeled. As a result, we had trouble (and got into trouble) finding the place. We resorted to getting instructions from our handheld GPS, which turned out to be a mistake. We ended up driving through a very narrow road (that only the smallest of their small cars can drive through so we were told by the residents who came to our rescue), and driving and getting stuck under a tight scaffolding that held an ancient house that was under renovation. We couldn't and didn't get out of this difficult situation without incurring a lot of damage to our rental car (and thankfully not to the house). It was unfortunate that we got into this trouble, however, I figured out that it was not the B&B's fault.

We got to the B&B quite stressed out and were welcomed by a gentleman (Francesco's asst, forgot his name) who was sympathetic about what we just went through. After being shown our room, we were taken to the roof-top terrace, which had breathtaking views of the Valley of the Temple. We were then invited to take a seat and to relax. A table was set up for us and white linen laid on top. We were served aperitif and wonderful appetizers (on the house) as we took in the views, relaxed and watched the beautiful sun set. See photo of the set up.

We had a fantastic breakfast the next morning again on the terrace. We were going to abandon our plans to visit the Valley of the Temples as we thought that the views from the B&B terrace were probably as good (and given that we had already seen the ruins and temples in Selinunte and Segesta). However, Francesco insisted that we visit the Valley as it is "very special". He was right, it was really very special. (Francesco, we thank you so much for your assistance. Seeing the Valley was truly a unique and unforgettable experience.).
