“Interesting hotel in quiet location.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2011

Hotel Eos is situated away from the centre of Agrigento but very easy to access the Valle di Templi. It is sited in a good sized plot with its own car parking. The communal areas of the hotel are decorated with a lot of interesting and unusual artefacts. There is no lift so cases have to be carried up to the upper floor. Rooms were adequate if fairly plain. The hotel advertises as having a restaurant for dinner but was unable to offer food the night we were there. The receptionist offered to recommend some restaurants not too far away or said that the Best Western Hotel Kaos next door did evening food. We ended up eating the remains of our picnic lunch as we were tired. The breakfast buffet was probably the best we had with a very good range including bread, cereals cakes. The hotel also advertises a pool and gardens but as we were only there one night we didn’t test these out.

“Worst hotel in Sicily”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2009

Hotel Villa Eos Agrigento.
We were pleased we had only one night to spend at this dirty, weird and inhospitable place booked for us by Italia nel Mondo (UK) Ltd.
It took us ages to find the place as we were not given any instructions by the travel agency.
We were told the hotel had a restaurant which turned out to be incorrect.
We booked a twin bedded room only to find the travel agency had incorrectly specified a double bed; so after carrying our cases up to the third floor-there was no lift-we had to carry them down again to a lower floor. The twin beds were 2ft 6ins and looked as though they had been bought in a charity shop.
The shower was so tiny it was imposible to bend over.
The breakfast table had already been set up when we arrived in late afternoon and was then uncovered the following morning.
The walls were festooned with the weirdest pictures we have ever sen in any hotel; weird shaped faces with starey eyes!
We scarcely touched the breakfast and got out of there as fast as we could pack. The breakfast room, probably an open terrace in summer, was enclosed with the dirtiest, most delapidated plastic windows we have ever set eyes on.

“unpleasant”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2008

Remote location, tiny rooms, broken pool, stale breakfast food, ugly decor, creepy art by the owner. Only food is at a nearby hotel and is uninteresting and expensive. The receptionist was excellent.

“Treated terribly, stay away”

After travelling extensively throughout Italy and being very happy with a variety of accomodations, this is the first hotel I would Not recommend! Here's why: The listing for this property indicates Wireless Internet for guests; a service that was important for myself and my travelling companion and it was one of the reasons we selected this property. We asked the gentleman who checked us in (owner?) and who spoke very little English about this. He assured us, no problem, no problem with internet connection. After settling in our room, we could not find a wireless connection. I went to the reception and was now told by him we needed to plug into the telephone line. I knew this was wrong and suspected there was no internet service available, but it was too late in the day to find another hotel in the area. The next day, this man's daughter, who spoke very good English, told us the hotel had not had wireless internet service since last year. For convenience sake, we decided to stay one more day and do without internet service. Our stay was in February and the weather was cold at night. When we returned the second night, the heat was off in our room. A trip to the reception and a request to the same genetleman for the heat to be turned on in our room was met with this response: in about 15 minutes. Thirty minutes later, no heat. My companion who speaks good Italian went to the reception and asked about the heat. She was told: soon. She insisted now for the heat, and the man went to a switch panel behind a door at the reception and turned on the heat in our room. This is Not how guests should be treated in a hotel! Finally at checkout, our bill had an extra charge for two coffees. We asked why and were told by the young woman (daughter) that these were served to us at breakfast. This hotel has a buffet breakfast, including coffee. We have stayed at dozens of hotels in Italy and Europe and have Never been charged for a second cup of coffee at a buffet breakfast. This extra charge was ridiculous, but was representative of the way we were treated overall at this poorly managed hotel. The only positive aspect of this place is the view of the Mediteranean Ocean. Our advice would be to skip the Hotel Eos; you can do much better in this area for the same money.

“Not very impressive”

Stayed three days here and if it were not for the great balcony in this room (#304), one night would have been enough. The shower ( actually a sprayer in an open tub ) couldn't accomodate anyone over five foot tall without touching the slanted ceiling. There is not an ice cube in this hotel !! One of the girls behind the desk did offer to send someone to her home to fetch some ice cubes. We ended up going to the Hotel next door (Keos), and got a bag of ice from them, gratis. The next night we drove five miles to a resturant to get a bag of ice for our afternoon cocktails. We travelled with a group of six and brought our own liquor. The air conditioning had to be turned on at the front desk, and it was necessary to ask twice each evening for them to turn it on. It is a very difficult place to find as it is not on a major street or highway. The rooms were clean and the setting was pretty, could possibly be a real three star if management would wake up. Almost forgot to mention, no elevators.
