“It Doesn't Get Much Better Than This!”

We must add our glowing recommendations to the several already earned by Diana, Micha and Max. Baur B&B offers all the elements of a 5 Star hotel but in a warm and welcoming sanctuary located just outside Acqui Terme. Every comfort is provided and the service is unparalled. A gem you are sure to enjoy. You can be certain we will return.

“Perfetto. Nonpareil.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2009

A 10 day step back in time, with all the modern conveniences. A gorgeous accommodation, to-die-for breakfasts, wine in our room, internet, books, astonishingly gorgeous views and most of all, a peaceful ambience. It's harvest time and Micha took us to a local cooperativo, where we were lucky enough to see truckloads of grapes coming in to be weighed and crushed. Then to a small vintner's for a personal tasting. If you're a creative person, this place brings it out in spades. If you just want to relax, it's the perfect place. If you want to use it as a base to explore the countryside, it's a great place to call "home". Can't say enough about our hosts and their place. 5 stars. No--SIX!

“You can't always get what you want”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2009

You can't always get what you want…But if you try sometimes you just might find the perfecto B&B, and you will not feel like a complete unknown tourist like a rolling stone. Yea, sometimes I felt like I had no direction home but hosts, Micha and Diana were always willing to help this rolling stone. Yea, everything that others have said is true, breakfasts were grand, rooms/swimming pool were outstanding(I like to swim)…they even have washcloths (something Italians don’t use or have). Micha and Diana, and Max bend over backwards to make sure you have a great time…and Micha’s wine tours are not to be missed.
But the real star is the region, this is not Rome, Venice or Florence…but in many ways you will be exposed to/experience Italian life/culture that many who have made numerous trips to Italy never experienced. Meet winemaker Domenico Botto in his really short shorts and his dog Kika, go to Acqui Terme where a waitress told me my tip was too much (true story), get up close and personal with the goats that make the wonderful Robiola cheese. And of course eat the wonderful food which many say is the best in Italy (think forestry, think mushrooms) and drink the best wine in the world (my humble opinion).
You can get what you want, go to the Baur B&B.

“Unforgettable B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2009

If you're after the generic 5 star experience of a Hotel Chain - then this is NOT the place for you. Baur B&B is truly a hidden gem amongst the wineries of Piedmonte. I spent 6 nights at Baur in August 2009. Whilst it is located in a beautiful town called Aqui Terme, you feel like you are in a beautiful secluded country retreat.

Diana and Micha Baur and the kindest, generous caring hosts. Diana prepares the most unbelievable breakfasts every morning for guests to enjoy on the terrace. Breakfasts can range from the beautful figs freshly plucked from the tree on the terrace to regional cheeses, amazing omelettes, fresh juices, fruit, salami and freshly baked foccacias.

The rooms are spacious and homely. It's the little added extras of Frette Linen, complimentary water and exceptional wine that compliment your stay.

Micha gives you the best suggestions and advice for your trips to nearby villages. And has a great passion for wine of the region. You must ask him to select a wine from his cellar for you to enjoy with dinner. If discovering the wines of the region is on your To-Do list, I highly recommend taking a Wine tour with Micha. There are a couple of options available and the best part is you can indulge in the wine tasting and not worry about driving.

The third member of the Baur family is Max the georgous Labrador who greets you with a wagging tail and makes you feel like he's your best friend.

Baur is a perfect base for you to explore the amazing Piedmonte region or just sit back and relax by the Pool. I loved my stay at Baur so much that I would consider returning to Italy and only staying at Baur and enjoying the region.

I can't think of anything more to say other than.....go ahead and book it, you won't regret it.

“Bellissima”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2009

Ohers have already gone on and on about this amazing B&B. I agree with the outstanding reviews.

I'm not a fan of B&Bs in general. However, the Baur B&B is not your typical B&B.

The hosts, the attention to detail, the views..all incredible.

It's a perfect base from which to explore the Piemonte area of Italy.

Diana and Micha know the area well. Piemonte is rightfully known for it's food and wine. I would love to return to the B&B in the fall to experience the harvest from that season.
