“Can't wait to get here again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of january and booked the hotel mainly because of the good reviews compared to other hotels on the island and because of the great photos on their website and on their Facebook site. Although the price is high leveled, we definitely will be back. Everything was like the photos promised it to be. The place and the property is beautiful and perfect because every detail is right on the point. The Staff is very friendly and caring. Dinner and lunch was delicious. Of course - the continental breakfast could have offered a little bit more variation (fruits for example). But that is truly the only thing to complain about.

“Dunmore No More!!”

As a repeat customer this was our Third Stay at the Dunmore since the new owners took over and Renovated the property. I write this review as a very dissatisfied customer.
Of course the property is beautiful, as others have mentioned. I will not be reviewing that aspect of the property.
The Price of the rooms have gone up, and the service has gone down. We paid $780.00 dollars a night for the room plus a Gratuity(Tax as they call it) of another 24%. A total of $975.00 a night.
Of course a Continental Breakfast was included with price.
The Continental Breakfast consisted of Banana Nut Muffins and Cereal, consisting of Captain Crunch, Fruit Loops, Frosted Flakes and Special K. WOW!! The previous times we stayed we also were offered a Fruit Bowl, so I asked if they had any fruit, no problem. Fruit was brought to the table, and then later a bill for $10.00 plus $1.75 for Gratuity was handed to us.
The overall feel is that they could care less about you as a customer, almost like the new group has bought the property as their place to go in the Bahamas and if they make some money along the way Great.
Beautiful Place but overpriced, Stay at the Rock House where you will be treated as a valued customer or if you must stay on the Beach Runaway Hill .

“There aren't places like this anymore.”

Three words describe this place: Attention To Detail.

Amazing, in every respect.

Room Tip: Ocean View all the way. Request Acqua North or South.

“Shhh! The Hidden Gem of Harbour Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

This really is the only place to stay on Harbour Island and I am really reluctant to tell anyone about it, so it can remain our place forever. We booked this Inn, purely on the strength of the reviews from Trip Advisor and it takes a proud first place for being the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. We have travelled the world all over and stayed in many luxury hotels, including some in Dubai and have not always been able to find the balance between excellent service as well as feeling completely relaxed and at home. The staff are exceptionally warm, caring and fun - hope you are reading this Henry and Bob! The team work well, from the ladies who looked after with ease at breakfast, to the front desk who run a seamless service at all times.
We would like to thank Quincey for her greetings and for making our stay so exceptional from start to finish. Our only disappointment was that the inn is currently looking for a chef for dinner and I think we missed out on a wonderful food opportunity which previous reviewers have enjoyed.
So, if you want to switch off from the world, wander around barefoot and receive superb service as well as beautiful surroundings, then this is the place for you - just please don't tell anyone about this chic and stylish hidden gem....

Room Tip: All rooms are good, however it is worth paying the extra for an ocean view.

“Come See Why We Can't Get Enough!”

The Dunmore has set new standards on Harbour Island as the best place to stay! My husband and I travelled there this month for 5 nights and could barely stand to leave the grounds of this outstanding resort. The Dunmore incorporates all that Harbour Island is known for: superb food, charming vintage nostalgia, top accomodations, and loads of hospitality. I can not say enough about the staff- they do not hover but accomodate every need. The cottages are chic and stylish as well as loaded with conveniences. The clubhouse, pool pavillion and diing room are fantastic gathering areas for the guests. Agian, professionally decorated in a beach chic vintage style, all common and private areas are top notch. The best part of the resort is the feeling of intimacy. Staying duirng low season, you truly feel like this is a private estate that you are a guest in for the week. There are times where the pool is yours for the taking, the dining room, etc. It is a great getaway that mixes the perfect amount of seclusion and then in the evening great company!
Feavorite parts of the trip included golf cart drives all through the island....get a map and explore! Restaurants that we liked were the Rock House for atmosphere and the rum cake, Sip Sip for the lobster quessadilla(easy to split this), and the Dunmore for lunch
(crab croquettes and conch fritters are yummy).
We thought that we could not beat St. Barts but this has changed our minds. Being so close to us by plane, friendly locals and staff, and the fun golf carts make this island a superb place to stay. These folks know how to live and don't mind sharing their secret!
