I went to Modessa during the first week of Dec. and I must say, it was one of the greatest and most gorgeous places I have ever seen. Starting from the boat ride from Roxas to the island, just seeing the island surrounded by the majestic, clear blue water, then finally seeing the white/blue cabins, and the white sand was absolutely breathtaking. The picturesqueness of the island was undoubtedly overwhelming and just completely set the tone for a once in a lifetime vacation.

The weather was incredible when we were there. The staff were beyond friendly, accommodating and courteous. The food was fantastic, especially the coconut shakes! The lodging was basic yet quaint, but at the price of $40 per night, what could we complain about? We had a conversation with the pleasant manager who informed us of their future plans of improvement for the resort, which excited us because we are looking forward to going back next year. My husband and I are from the States and nothing we've seen compares to the beauty of this island. It was pure and utter bliss staying there.

The snorkeling and scuba diving were such an amazing experience especially with all the beautiful, exotic fishes that we saw! It was like an image from the movies! This whole experience was overall, the vacation of a lifetime. The worst part of the entire vacation? The going home part! I honestly cannot wait until next year. Hopefully, they'll have more cabins up so I can bring my family and friends so that they too can experience nature's perfection hidden in Roxas, Palawan.

It was paradise. When you wake up and leave your room you are right on the beach. The water is blue and clean. It's just a great place to stay. All this for a price of a hotel room in the city or even cheaper. AND YOU GET BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER. The only drawback, no AC but for that price I can cope with it.

Avoid!

The island is beautiful and it must have been fantastic as Coco Loco but as Modessa be prepared to have your money extorted from you. The price has almost doubled and for this you can enjoy packet soup, other inedible meals and the feeling of being looked after by the Addams Family in a run down ramshackle dining room.

The bungalows are simple, basic and ok but you can find Palawan resorts with much higher quality accommodation for less than half the price.

I really wish I could recommend this amazing island but it's just not worth it at the new prices... they have no idea of good service.

We love this resort though the rooms are very basic. This is where I saw a baby sting ray just by snorkeling! The food is good and amazing that they can provide shakes, cold beer and iced drinks in the middle of a hot day. Employees are nice. The beach is beautiful - we always feel refreshed every time we go here for few days. I hope the management can maintain its beauty and its being unique.
