I can't say enough great things about our experience at Cap Maison, although it almost didn't happen...we were scheduled to stay at Ladera, but hurricane Tomas had other plans. Our schedule didn't allow much flexibility, and Cap Maison graciously offered to have us stay there and matched the Ladera rate.
We stayed in unit 32, an Oceanview Villa Suite with Jacuzzi, and it was just heaven. The view was fantastic (overlooking the small beach), and sleep came easily every night with the sound of the surf crashing below. The unit was spacious, with beautiful tile work in the bathrooms, and each of the two levels had its own balcony, plus there was a rooftop terrace. Having air conditioning in the bedroom was a nice option. We only used it about half the time we were there, but it was nice to have when the breeze wasn't as strong. Also, the landscaping at the resort was gorgeous, truly art.
The food was wonderful, inventive, and varied. We ate at the Cliff at Cap every night save one, and the alternative wasn't as good:-) The staff were always gracious, friendly, warm, and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable (and made a mean rum punch!). Keemo, Marlon, and Keisha were especially kind and attentive.
The beach, while small, was hardly ever crowded, and the view was beautiful. My husband snorkeled almost every day, right from the beach, and saw some...I can't say enough great things about our experience at Cap Maison, although it almost didn't happen...we were scheduled to stay at Ladera, but hurricane Tomas had other plans. It was the little touches that made our stay so memorable. The glass of champagne upon arrival, the hostess at the restaurant greeting us by name, Ross, the GM, taking us to the market with him on Saturday morning. We were celebrating our 5 year anniversary, and had a bottle of champagne waiting in our room upon arrival. We felt every need was attended to, they even anticipated a few before we could even ask!
I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly, and St. Lucia is a gorgeous and unique island to visit. My only issue on the whole trip was the mosquitos...they loved me. The resort supplies all natural insect repellent, but I strongly recommend bringing your own, complete with pesticides...you'll thank me:-)More
