“Total Relaxation in Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We spent a week in January at the Cap Maison- it truly is a romantic paradise. We had a gardenview room- but this actually provided an amazing view of the ocean from our veranda. The view while dining is breathtaking. Everything was perfection! The staff was top knotch! The food was great! Often on other Carribean islands- we have not felt welcome. We had such wonderful times with the staff at the Cap Maison- they couldn't have been friendlier or more accomodating. The resort and rooms are beautiful. We have stayed at Sandals and other wonderful resorts- but Cap Maison was the best.
The beaches in St. Lucia are small and sit in various coves. I would not advise renting your own car- there is really only one road- and nothing is marked. Cabs are pricy- but it is the only way to travel. Some of our best memories and a long lasting friendship came from our excursions with our cab driver. The Cap Maison was perfection and the St. Lucian people are wonderful. It is a very, very safe island. We will return!

“3-day stay this time and our second visit.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We stayed here last year for just 1-day. We liked it so much we treated ourselves to a 3-day stay at the end of our holiday.
Our villa was 33. This was set right at the edge of the resort near the steps to the beach which was an advantage to us.
Private with lovely views down to the beach at Smugglers Cove. Jacuzzi on the balcony off the bedroom. The bed was very comfortable with choice of pillows and very luxurious.

We were welcomed with a cold flannel and champagne by Dey and Ross Stevenson, the GM.
Lunch menus have been updated since our last visit and there was less stodgy stuff and more interesting food. I had two starters so had Spider Crab salad and Sweet Rock Shrimp risotto. Both were excellent. The wine we had was St Bris which was a lovely white wine and not too expensive. We were having very sunny and windy weather so the view from the Cap was particularly good this year.
Housekeeping was pretty efficient although there was a lack of replacement of toilet paper again (which was also an issue last time!!)

We had one maintenance issue with a non-working light bulb in the shower area. This was fixed very quickly by Kirby whilst we were at dinner. The villa was very clean and I loved the shower and Aqua Parma shampoos which were replenished regularly.

Dunstan and Miguel at the beach were friendly and helpful. The sea was quite rough for snorkelling although I gave it a try. The new beach bar menu and grill looked impressive. Great Strawberry Daquiris!

Breaksfasts were amazing with lots of things to try. It included, as an option, the Lucian breakfast of salt fish, bakes, cucumber and cocoa tea. Great! The homemade yoghurts were lovely. We had dinner on two nights, the first was a Tapas evening with food based on the current menus but in smaller portions. The second was the a la carte menu. There was also a daily three course menu which was good value.

Check out was efficient and the bill was accurate, one minor niggle, the checkout process was interrupted several times by the phone ringing and the lady dealing with my account had to answer it. Personally, when card transactions are involved, I want undivided attention!

In conclusion, Cap Maison is very good indeed. The cocktails, pricewise can mount up, but the wine list is reasonably priced for the resort. That said, the food is excellent and, considering the ingredients, you get what you pay for. The emphasis throughout seems to be on quality in everything and high standards of service. We are already planning to come back next year!

“Wonderful Getaway at Cap Maison”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

My husband and I stayed at Cap Maison for four nights in October 2011. We booked under a discounted charity promo and I was slightly worried we may receive less of a room or less service because of this. Not so! Our accommodations were extremely luxurious and everyone on the staff went out of their way to make sure our vacation was wonderful.

The Junior Suite was perfect for two people. We had a large covered patio with a beautiful view of the ocean. We enjoyed the private beach area and went snorkeling and kayaking, which are both included. If you don't want to come up from the beach to snack, the beach bar has a tasty lunch. We had dinner at the restaurant and while it was pricey, it was very delicious and completely worth it. We also got massages at the spa and they were excellent.

We left Cap Maison completely relaxed and invigorated from our vacation. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to St. Lucia!

“Relaxing in Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

My Fiance and I spent the week between Christmas and New Years at the Cap Maison and it was truly magnificent. I have had the fortunate opportunity to stay at a number of wonderful resorts in the Caribbean. The Cap Maison was the best. Individuals, couples and families with small children will have a wonderful, relaxing vacation while enjoying all the wonders of St. Lucia.

Here is a quick recap of the various ammenities:

The Room: Our room was spacious and clean. Unfortunately, we were given a room whereby two twin beds had been pushed together, but outside of that small hiccup - the decor and space was wonderful. We had a lovely deck where we watched the sun set every night. Some people mentioned the wildlife as an issue for sleeping - coming from New York this was a wonderful treat - it felt like we were sleeping in a real rain forest! Some of the best sleep I have had in a long time!

The Pool: I always find at resorts you have to get up super early to stake out your pool chair space. Not at Cap Maison. There were plenty of chairs, umbrella's and seating options for everyone. The pool was the perfect size and it fit the resort well. It was nice to sit poolside at 5 pm EST, watch the sunset and speak with the wonderful staff!

Beach Access: They have access to a private beach where you can access non-motorized water activities. The staff, chef and bartender down at the beach are wonderful! They had an awesome lunch, which I do recommend! I also recommend trying some of the off resort water activities to see other parts of the island, but the beach at Cap is a great way to spend the day doing all sorts of activities!

The Restaurant (Cliff at Cap): Its a great spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We did have one bad dinning experience, but that was due to a staff shortage. This only happened once due to some staff members calling in sick. That being said, they have a wonderful team running the establishment and this was probably the best or one of the best restaurants on the island. The food was wonderful, but I do recommend leaving the resort to try some of the other restaurants in Rodney Bay. However, if you are a resort "home body" the Cliff at Cap will not let you down at all.

The Spa: We treated ourselves to a number of spa treatments. I am by no means an expert in this department, but my Fiance and I were impressed. The expense was reasonable, they had a number of options and the services themselves were wonderful.

The other facilities: There is a great gym on the premise and you have access to the interview via Wi-Fi and hard line.

The Staff: The people of St. Lucia are the nicest people I think I have met anywhere in the Caribbean maybe even the world. This is especially true for the staff at Cap Maison. They are always willing to go the extra mile and they did a wondeful job at providing you with whatever you need including scheduling adventure trips, arranging taxi's or giving you an opinion on a restaurant. The General Manager, Ross, was on-site to welcome us upon our arrival. He even showed us how to get to the beach. The staff at Cap Maison really make your visit to St. Lucia complete!

One Con: I will tell you the Cap Maison is expensive, but you do pay for what you get. I will admit I didn't do much research on other resorts because Cap was so highly rated, but please be advise that you are paying for a luxury vacation at Cap Maison. This may not be for everyone, but it is something to consider when planning a vacation. However, I knew what the cost could be and for my first luxury vacation in four years - it was well worth it!

We had a wonderful trip, we can't thank Ross and his team enough and we have already suggested to our Families that they consider make a trip down to Cap Maison in St. Lucia.

“Trip of a lifetime”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

The drive from the airport we flew into was long, but great because we got to see the whole island and the micro ecosystems.

The suite was more like a castle. The beach was so private we were the only ones there. The snorkeling right there was fantastic. We had the whole beach to ourselves for most of the trip. The food was good but not the best I've ever had. But still great. There is only one restaurant and this is not a big party place. I loved that about it.

Try the peak to beach package. Wish I could afford to go back!! This is the trip of a lifetime.
