“Home away from home!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

Thanks to Kathryn and Peter for a most wonderful visit to Caerleon. We stayed with them for three nights in October. The rooms are perfect (luxurious bed linens, which I love!) and the location is within walking distance of all attractions, restaurants and public houses (of which there are many!) We did day trips to many of the castles in Southern Wales and are already looking at when we can visit again. Breakfast to order!! (Try the vegetarian sausages!) You won't be disappointed at the Pendragon.

“The perfect place for fussy travellers!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

I stayed at Pendragon House this weekend with my husband and teenage son and daughter. Being fussy about where we stay, we spent a long time searching for the right place - and we certainly found it with Pendragon House.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the en-suite bathrooms roomy and sparkling clean, the breakfasts amazing and the hosts the nicest you could possibly meet.

Pendragon House is the perfect location for those who like to visit the historic sites of Caerleon, not just because is it within easy walking distance but also because Kath can tell you everything you need to know about where to go and why. And the house itself has its own historic attractions, aswe discovered.

Really didn't want to leave and will most definitely be staying there again.

Room Tip: Room3 has a super kingsize bed which is very comfortable.

Mum and I stayed for 2 nights, but are planning another visit already. Kath and Pete made us feel like friends not just guests, with Kath giving us each a huge hug when we left. The room was spotless and very cosy, with beds so soft and comfortable we did not want to get out of them.
The breakfasts were tasty local products, well cooked by Kath.
Kath gave excellent advise on what to do and see in the area, loaning us books to read about the local Roman archeology.
The B+B is situated in the heart of town. Parking is a couple of minutes away in the Olde Bull car park and they give a free carpark ticket for your stay The Roman baths are at the back of the car park and they were spectacular. All the Roman sites are within a 5 minutes walk, and all are free to visit. Watch out for them on Time Time next Spring, as a Roman city/port was discovered on land next to the ampithetre this summer and Time Team were there to record it on film. Michael Wood, the historian and presenter, stayed at Pendragon House during the dig, whilst he was filming a documentry.

“WOW factor -much better than than Newport hotels!!”

Having stayed a few times at the Hilton in Newport, I felt it was time for a change and stumbled across the Pendragon. I will not be staying anywhere else in the area again! Only a mile away from Newport, Caerleon is so historical with it's rich Roman history and FREE Roman baths, museums, appitheatre and mosaics. It takes approx three minutes walk to visit these magnificent sites. Caerleon has some lovely friendly pubs, one if which was by the river and was great to sit and have a drink, with splendid views this was only a couple of minutes walk from the Pdndragon.
Kathryn and Pete were the best hosts ever and the rooms were to die for! I have taken some photographs of the bed and bathroom as I would like a similar design. I travel on business a lot and would recommend this little gem for anyone who wants to feel they are at home still without the intrusion of the hosts. Ask to see the medieval road under the trap door, and all the treasures that were found there it is very interesting! Kathryn said that she has had Phil from time team stop at Pendragon I can see why! Apparently the histroical drains from the old Roman baths also run under the house.
I can promise you if you stay at the Pendragon you will be back many times!
