“Amazing getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Very friendly welcoming staff. Wonderful countryside views and a relaxing environment. We stayed for a full week and although the location is isolated we weren't bored at all. After landing at the airport, we hired a car from Pisa, then drove down to the hotel. One tip if you are hiring a car in Italy, make sure you check out the ZTL restrictions for every town or city you plan to visit before you get in the car. If you drive down the wrong road it's a €121 fine! We found this out the hard way. We also visited Florence one day and some of the smaller nearby towns and beaches. The hotel itself is set in a vineyard, owned by a local family. We were lucky to have a guided tour of the farm by the owner, who was very interesting to talk to. The food was excellent, breakfast, lunch and dinner. You would definitely struggle to leave the table feeling hungry! I would definitely recommend this to friends and family.

Hello Tim,
forgive for having overseen your lovely review. I just don't understand how this could have happened. You've been very kind and we are very glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Indeed there is really a lot to do and to see around this area, everything is just so within easy reach; major cities of cultural interest (Florence, Pisa, Siena, Lucca), seaside (Castiglione della Pescaia, Follonica, Punta Ala), hot springs (Saturnia, Petriolo) and we are simply blessed with warm climate and natural beauties that help make a holiday really special.
We hope to have you as our guest once again soon. We look forward to it.
Thank you from The Montebelli Team.

“A great way to relax your mind with and without children”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

We first visited Montebelli as fresh fidanzatini with no children back in 2004 and have been regulars since. Even now we have two little girls Thea & lara - who love the place it is our first thought to book when we wish to get away from the day to day.
There is a consistent, friendly and professional manner especially from alsessandro tosi who makes it a point to take time over his guests whether you are a regular or it is your first time - you are always left feeling special !
The food & wine is incredible and it is wonderful to see the family trying every year ways to improve their Tuscan, wonderful retreat.
Well worth a stay

“"Truly Wonderful"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

Having heard so many great experiences from friends over the years, our family finally booked a week-long trip there in early August and had an absolutely wonderful time! Everyone was soooo friendly and hospitable, amenities classy and comfortable, location perfectly suited for those seeing either relaxation and/or exploration, and the food was totally scrumpous..partially due to the home grown products including olive oil and wine !

In terms of activities, our 6yr old daugther loves horses and went on rides every morning (with Elboy) right after breakfast, while I being the rather sporty type, went on mountain bike rides, swam in the pool and played a litte tennis on their court. My wife enjoyed just relaxing and reading by the poolside occasionaly venturing as a family out to the surrounding towns nearby. My parents (in their early 70s) were also with us and took advantage of massages via spa on-site and also explored the surrounding towns which were easily within a 20mins radius. There was even an outdoor theatre performance with Madame Butterfly in one of the towns during our stay and the ladies at reception kindly booked (very fortunate due to its popularity) on our behalf.

One of the truly nice things was how we ended up chatting and getting to know many of the other guests. With the atmosphere being so friendly, it felt like a natural extension of what typically happended there. Our daugther always had friends to play with and we sincerely felt part of an extended family. Thus, it was no surprise to hear that their primary advertisement was word of mouth and clientele was significantly made up of returning families, some who had been coming over the last ten+ years. In similar fashion, we are already planning to return next year, extend our stay and hopefully invite some other friends along!

We really loved our time there and just wanted to thank our extended family in Montebelli! Looking forward to our return in 2012!

“Magical”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

We stayed on the Agri-hotel side of the property while on a bike tour with friends. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable. The food was outstanding. The owner will encourage you to take the short trek up to a peak above the olive groves to see the family's huge 500 year old tree with a special inscription beside it to ponder. The view from there is breathtaking. The grounds and pool are gorgeous and inhabited by 4 handsome, well behaved German Shepherds. A unique experience!

“Fantastic Oasis in Toscany - great place!”

We have stayed at Montebelli for 2 weeks and this was the best experience that we had in Tuscany. The staff is very nice - especially Silvia at the breakfast and Eleanora at the reception. The rooms are large, nice and clean. All area is maintained very well and you have the feeling that you are on Oases. You can enjoy wellness, 2 swimming pools, tennis, horse riding, wine testing - simply you can not get bored there. The owner Alessandro is a great host with whom you are at the best hands. The food is very good and their wine Fabulo and Acantos even better. We had a fantastic relax vacation thanks to Montebelli and we are looking very much forward to return to this place.
