We have stayed at Montebelli for 2 weeks and this was the best experience that we had in Tuscany. The staff is very nice - especially Silvia at the breakfast and Eleanora at the reception. The rooms are large, nice and clean. All area is maintained very well and you have the feeling that you are on Oases. You can enjoy wellness, 2 swimming pools, tennis, horse riding, wine testing - simply you can not get bored there. The owner Alessandro is a great host with whom you are at the best hands. The food is very good and their wine Fabulo and Acantos even better. We had a fantastic relax vacation thanks to Montebelli and we are looking very much forward to return to this place.

we stayed here for one night en-route to florence. the place is stunning, very well kept and the rooms are great. our friends had a luxury room and we had a standard room. Both were lovely and had comfy beds and really nice bathrooms.
make sure you drive/walk/horse-ride around the estate as it is simply beautiful. we drove up to the oak (highest point of the property) and watched the sunset with a bottle of wine and some bread - magical.
we had dinner at the restaurant on the estate - it was BBQ night and the food was the best we had the whole time in italy. the owner came and joined us for a while and we had a great time hearing about him and his life and the montebelli history. He even gave us some free grappa and wine.
this place was such good value for money compared to surrounding hotels. could not reccommend more.

My husband and I recently attended the destination wedding of my cousin, which was held at Montebelli. While it was difficult to find, oncd you got there, the hotel was a perfect oasis. Azure blue pools, spaaatastic spa, verdant lawns, and amazing food! It's everything you imagine Tuscany to be. The owner (I forget his name) walks the grounds regularly, checking on guests, and he is so warm and convivial. They have 4 beautiful German shepherds lounging on the grounds, the most well behaved dogs I've ever met. The rooms are sumptuous--the most comfortable mattress and pillows of our trip to Italy. Montebelli is located fairly close to Grosseto and Livorno, if you want to find more tasty restaurants, but the food on the premises is great. They make their own olive oil and wine, and their spa beauty products are all olive-oil based, cleared up my skin which was reddened by the hot Tuscan sun. For the wedding, it was held on their lawn just outside their restaurant. Amidst the shade of the lush pine trees, my cousin had her dream wedding, Quaker style. Don't miss the tall, lone oak tree, La Cuercha Alta. The only minor points that were slight deductions: Don't follow the directions on their website-- you will get lost! After the Bivio Caldana sigh, turn LEFT to Caldana, go about 1.5 miles. Montebelli will be on the left, you have to turn onto a gravel road. Also, the wireless internet was not free (you can purchase time in hourly increments, 6 euros for 2 hours). Then again, you're going to Montebelli to unplug...

My husband and I needed one night before going to Rome and picked the hotel very quickly off the Internet. We had really no idea what we would find, especially when we started down the dusty bumpy road. We're we surprised. A real oasis. Peaceful, beautiful grounds, huge vegetable gardens and trails for short hikes through the property. The staff is warm and helpful. The food was quite good. We had planned on driving around the countryside but instead just spent a very relaxing afternoon and evening. Rooms are not luxurious but quite comfortable
