“A good budget Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We stayed at the Arosfa this weekend as part of a family group celebrating a 30th Birthday. We felt it was very good value for money. Our room was clean and large, fine for 2 adults and 2 kids. Yes, its tired and could do with some paint and a spruce up, but the hotel was in a great postion, the staff were all lovely (especially the waiting staff) and the food was fine, the breakfast was really good. We used the bar and the function room, had the run of the hotel ground floor really. I think we all had a really great time, the hotel was just right for what we needed and was a very good price!

“Last Resort hotel”

Stayed at this hotel in November. The staff were friendly and food good. The management in my opinion need to go on a customer service course as I think you can telI by the reviews and responses to reviews on this site. Main areas ok but dated and tired looking but is a two star hotel. The room I had however was terrrible. Very outdated and tatty but again that's probably why only two star rating. The only thing I do not expect from any star hotel in the present climate when customer loyalty is wanted is a dirty room. The carpet was stained, old dirty netting at window, tatty curtains falling of rail. When I first arrived I had to ask for the very stained bed valance to be changed. The bathroom. Where to begin, I stood on antibacterial wipes when I showered and wiped around toilet and sink with them before use. Please look at the pictures I have downloaded they do not lie. Also towels grey and thin (white maybe at one time) I did not think they were being changed when put in bath so I marked the tags and sure enough same towels placed back on towel rails. My advice is don't go. The customer is always wrong and let us not forget always RUDE!!!!!

“GREAT”

We were made so welcome during our stay at the Arosfa, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The food was delicious, home cooked, piping hot, and the proprietors and staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, you only had to ask for something and they went out of their way to make sure you got it.
The building is old, but well built and solid, if only they built like that today instead of glass and plastic, the rooms are clean and comfortable, every day coffee, tea ,milk, sugar and biscuits were replenished,as were shampoo and shower jells,(not many top hotels do that), you get it once, then have to pay if you want more. it was a pleasure to come back into the hotel/room after a day out.I went with my sister in law and jethro my labrador, we are returning in a few weeks, can't wait.

“Very dated hotel!! With not bad breaky!!”

Me and my wife are 26 and stayed at this hotel august 2011. We arrived at around 3pm on a saturday and we struggled to park any where near the hotel as the hotel its self has no parking and the road its on was packed with cars, we ended up parking about 1/2 a mile away. The room we stayed in was a double ensuite. It was a very dated room with small tv and very large bathroom(with bath), although the bathroom could also do with a refurb but was all ok to use! The only way i can think of describing the double bed was well used!, as it was bent in the middle meaning it made us roll towards each other in the night!! Theres tea and coffee stuffs for making a brew, and nice shower gels and shampoos in the bathroom. The lift in the hotel is very old and small but does the job!! Breakfast was pleasant with cereals and a hot breaky or patisseries!! Probably wouldnt return to this hotel only because is very dated!!

“Fawlty Towers in Weston”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

Weston-super-ripoff!

We spent a fortune, whilst in Weston for two days. We decided to try a weekend at a traditional seaside destination.

It lived upto expectations, unfortunately.

The new pier is a feat of modern engineering, the inside is everything you traditionally expect from a British over commercialised seaside destination.

We did most things; donkey rides, Weston eye, everything at the pier, walks on the mud etc. The money just flew out of our pockets. In two days and one night with the three of us we spent over three hundred pounds, and the hotel was very inexpensive.

We found the hotel on Google, a few hotels didn't answer the phone, one didn't call back after asking us to leave a message, some just weren't interested in one night stays. Strange response when everywhere is so quiet in this current climate.

The improvements to Weston are all great and it seems that the improvements are ongoing.

the hotel was old, run down and quaint. It reminded us of faulty towers, it had very little going for it, but somehow you couldn't help but love it. The service was great (apart from the young lad on reception, who's mobile kept going off as we were trying to book in). The breakfast was good and we slept comfortably. The recption and communal areas were good, but beyond this the rooms, stairs, lift and walkways were showing their age. If only times were better and the hotel was more used, this would encourage investment where needed. We hope that more people use this hotel and that they make loads of money so that they can make the necessary improvements to bring it into this century. Old seaside hotels like this are a part of the British way of life and should have a protection order on them.
