Stayed for two nights. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Staff very friendly. Room very clean, although en-suite was a little cramped. Tea/coffee facilities very good, even had choice of hot chocolate and soup. Location on busy road, adequate parking, close to all amenities. Would definitely stay there again.

Let me put this review in perspective. Weston-super-Mare is not my idea of a holiday destination. I was there for a trekking weekend and to sample the local brew. I was drawn to the Saxonia by the web site claims- "premier","green tourism award", "gold award", 4 star and effusive customer endorsments. High standards indeed. Unfortunately not mine. The rooms are small but packed with features such as, flat screen tv, tea, coffee facilities, iron, safe and clock alarms. This may constitute the reason for such awards but fails to inform of the tired and drab decor and the mould and brown grouting. The breakfast offers an enormous choice but unfortunately it is 'cash and carry' quality rather than farmers' market. The Saxonia is situated a good ten minute walk through the town to the beach, of which there is plenty when the tide is out. I would suggest that the Weston award givers and the positive reviewers need to get out more and see the quality that should be the norm if the English seaside tourist industry is to thrive. In summary, an average seaside B & B.

We stayed at the Saxonia Guest house in early september and found the stay lovely do not understand what all the bad reviews are about Jon & Sandie run a lovely guest house will be coming again

had a weekend stay here and the best part was leaving, the room was ok, but the showering and toilet facilities were very cramped, and I'm not a big bloke, even now I still cant remember what we were supposed to do for breakfast, after receiving some baffling instructions, although I do remember we only had a 45minute window to be seated otherwise we missed breakfast. at breakfast although I asked for toast to accompany my full English breakfast, not that I would call it a full English, it was a little on the stingy side, i didn't receive my toast until well after I had finished, and we ended up sharing a table with another 2 guests, which might have been OK except for the fact that 6 youngish blokes and an old couple don't really mix. we were almost accused of stealing the keys to the rooms, even though we were just taking our luggage out to the car.

overall i would definitely NOT stay here again
